Owner description: Located in the magnificent Hawkesbury Valley, just over one hour from the heart of Sydney CBD, Tobruk Sydney offers you a day like no other. The expansive acreage overlooking the Hawkesbury River Valley and Blue Mountains allows you to experience a variety of activities, suitable for all ages. With sheep shearing, working dogs mustering sheep, duck shows, whip and boomerang demonstrations and Stockman on horseback, Tobruk Sydney is packed full of fun experiences you will never forget. Greeted by a Stockman on horseback, you will drive into Tobruk Sydney with breathtaking views of the property, with the Blue Mountains showing off in the background. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the friendly staff and they will direct you over to our 'Drovers Camp' where the Stockman will tell you all about life on a sheep station. Tasting the delicious Billy Tea and Damper that the Stockman has cooked fresh for you that morning, you will have your first experience of life as a Stockman. Watching the outback show has many exciting experiences, such as the unique Whip & Boomerang and Duck Show, along with discovering how the working dogs are trained. You will see the working dogs in action, as they muster the sheep into the sheep yards. Immerse yourself in the fascinating live sheep shearing demonstration, before heading back over to the Drovers Camp for a freshly-cooked Aussie BBQ lunch (included in our Premium & Afternoon program). Once you've enjoyed your delicious lunch, try your hand at cracking a whip or throwing a boomerang, or jump on a an optional tractor for a tour of the whole property.

We learned a lot about how the real sheep stations operate(d) and were fascinated by the history of Australia. The live demos of herding and shearing as well as the 'hands on' boomerang throwing and whip cracking were great fun for all. The dogs were fantastic! All in all, we had a grand day with our friendly, informative hosts and enjoyed a tasty lunch with them to boot. Having been here before, this time was much better due to a much smaller crowd of visitors.

We were given a hearty welcome at the farm. Delicious Damper bread and golden syrup eaten in the great outdoor area. The shows were fun and very educational, the dogs were just wonderful and loved being petted and being made a fuss of. The lunch was excellent, plenty of it and great tasting.......roast pumpkin ...yum!

Take the tour you won't be sorry.

We spent the day here, thanks to our Celebrity Cruises shore excursion out of Sydney. I am so glad that we picked this shore excursion, and I highly recommend a visit to Tobruk Sheep Station to everyone! We truly had so much fun. The people that run the facility are clearly committed, enjoying themselves as much as we did. We loved the sheep shearing demonstration, and I in fact volunteered to participate. We also got to throw boomerangs and we were taught how to crack a bullwhip. My daughter, who has mobility issues, gamely volunteered to use the whip, and the staff very sweetly helped her with it. We had an excellent lunch, especially enjoying the roasted pumpkin, the ham and the chicken sausage, and of course the lamingtons for dessert. The sheep herding demonstrations with the sheep dogs was terrific. We loved being able to interact with the sheep dogs, the sheep themselves, the cows, pigs and horses on site. There was even a barn cat who climbed into my lap, and the baby lamb who was brought around in the arms of one of the employees for us to see was precious beyond words. In the afternoon, we ate freshly made and extremely delicious yet deceptively simple, baking damper and billy tea, cooked fresh over the fire. The entire experience was fully authentic - we the visitors absolutely felt like we were where we in fact were - an actual functioning sheep station, but only an hour out of Sydney! Loved it and if we are ever back again, we would definitely return to Tobruk.

We enjoyed a great visit to Tobruk as an excursion of the Celebrity Solstice. Learned a good deal about Australia and its history. Would go again if I could.
