We lunched recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. The wait staff were very attentive, friendly and really made a simple lunch superb. We had a pizza and a risotto, both of which were cooked superbly. We also had a milk shake and a pineapple juice with mint and ginger which was very refreshing. We noted they had lovely Italian gelato and pastries available, and if we could have would have partaken of these as well. The wine list looked impressive and being able to enoy a premium quality wine by the glass is a very welcome suprise. Thoroughly recommended.

We decided to take advantage of the New Year's eve 9pm dining option at Tosolini's as it would provide a great view of the fireworks on City Hill. This it did, but unfortunately we missed half the show, as our waitress decided to take our order at the fireworks exploded above us.

Tosolini's had printed special menus for the night and notwithstanding that the prices were well above normal (as we had expected given the cost of getting staff) we were surprised that there was a 10% surcharge for meals after 6pm as well. We would have thought that the one off menu would have built surcharges into the price!

The staff were dressed up for the occasion, but the seating arrangements were disorganised, the tables looked as daggy as usual, and service was spasmodic. One of our two entrees arrived with our mains, my steak was luke warm at best, the salads looked like they were days old, but surprising, the zucchini flower entree was superb, the focaccia was warm and tasty and the two mains, while not earth shattering, were easy to eat and tasted ok. I had tried to order a Pinot Noir over the noise of the fire works, was billed for a Rose and received what seemed to be a cold sparkling shiraz. As it was over 30 degrees C where we were seated in the outdoor seating area, the wine turned out to be most enjoyable and easily complemented my meal. At $133 for two people for entries, mains, a glass of wine and a soft drink, it certainly ranks with our biggest ever restaurant bills, but not with the quality of those other meals that resulted in big bills. In conclusion, I should add that we visit this restaurant regularly and usually it ticks all the right boxes. I think that they over-extended themselves for New Years eve and could have done a lot better if they had matched numbers to kitchen capacity.

Serving great food with an Italian bent. The coffee is always reliable as is the pasta. Ask about Mama Tosolini's tiramasu - yum!

Had a nice Sunday breakfast on the outdoor patio at Tosolini's, which is on the central ring road of the 'Civic' neighborhood in Canberra. Close to hotels and the Canberra Center. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was hearty enough. I looked at the evening menu, which looked fine.

I would not hesitate to go to Tosolini's again for breakfast.

We stumbled across this place when we were with some overseas business collegues looking for somewhere to have dinner.
The service, food and wine was great - it was a balmy night we sat outside enjoying the warmth of the night - drinking red wine and eating really good pasta. A really good dine for a relaxing business dinner.
