When we looked at the menu we were happy to find Malaysian Hawker Food, in particular the stir fried noodles. We ordered Char Kway Teow, Beef Hor Fun, etc for lunch and regretted doing so. Every dish was fried with the dark sweet soya sauce like Kechap Manis making it extremely sweet, made worse by the heavy use of that sauce. It is not what you will get in Penang or Kuala Lumpur or for that matter from any decent Malaysian restaurant in Sydney or Melbourne.
We were disappointed but was prepared to put it down to experience. However, the waiter came to us and solicited our opinion on the food. Of course we told him the dishes were fried with the wrong sauce and way too sweet. Just not authentic. He then went into a tirade lecturing us what Malaysian food is, when he has never been there himself. That is until he discovered our guests were from that country when he changed his tune to the dishes being their own interpretation/style of a standard Malaysian Hawker staple.
We cannot comment on the other dishes as we have not tried them out. As for the variety of Hawker Fried Noodles they were not good Malaysian style.
