We go each year to Canberra for two particular restaurants, the Haige being one. Very disappointed with the menu this time round. In saying that, the food was still quite nice. It would have been nice have been offered another drink during the meal or perhaps a bottle of wine. We won't be going to this one again.

Decor feels like a truck stop.
Wait staff are very friendly but neglectful, if given the opportunity I will drink more than one beverage when I dine. I don't appreciate being rushed minutes after receiving my meal. And our hand written bill at the end of our short night was added up incorrectly.
Cheese balls and garlic pizza for entree. Garlic pizza was lovely but the cheese balls x3, no bigger than an ice cube for $18 were rather 'empty of cheese'.
Garlic, chili prawn spaghetti and spaghetti marinara for main.
Serving sizes were rather small for the price.
Cheese, lemon, whole garlic cloves (that make it hard to breath) and shallot overload for chili prawn spaghetti, prawns were lovely when u found them.
1x very overcooked (rubber) octopus 2x scallops 2x prawns 2x mussels and half a balmain bug for $30 marinara.
Didn't stay for dessert, although it did look enticing but I was worried my imagination would be tastier than the actual dish.

We stayed at the Capital Executive Apartments in Canberra and The Haig Restaurant is the restaurant in the Building and they do the fantastic full buffet breakfast for $15 which is so reasonable and great food.
Leslie and the girls in the restaurant were above and beyond for service. We were there for 3 nights and dined in the restaurant each night with 10%discount because we were staying at the Capital. The restaurant is privately owned by Rob and Leslie.
We had breakfasts every day.
One night was my birthday where we were given a complimentary drink and when they brought out our dessert the waitress Rob had put 2 candles on it and the waitress sang happy birthday to me which we thought was fantastic in a such an award winning restaurant. The prices for all the menu was very reasonable and was not as dear as Phillip Island .Vic.where we come from.
We were sorry to leave as were were making our way through the menu favourite dessert was 'Strawberry Lasagne' the main was 'Atlantic Salmon' on a bed of forbidden black rice with baby spinach. We cant wait to return and have 2 friends in Rob and Leslie and the girls.
