Great Central location close to all city sights. Stayed 5 days in 1 bedroom apt (with pull out sofabed). Staff are efficient helpful and friendly. We had a problem they acknowledged it immediately and fixed it. Housekeeping are on the ball. We liked this hotel because when we were tired of eating out the apartment kitchen had all the tools we needed to cook up dinner and brekky too. Coles supermarket is a 10min walk from hotel so great for the budget concious. Hotel restaurant was not a standout table setup has not been well thought out low bench seats and high tables didnt equate to comfortable dining. No table cloths meant the plates slide around when your cutting that juicy steak. Steak was good. Basic menu. For a hotel in this class the restaurant needs improvement. There are plenty of places to eat just 10mins away in the area a few streets away at the back of the hotel and more flavorsome try Yat Bun Tong for asian food in Lonsdale St. We gave breakfast a miss at hotel we werent comfy paying $20-$30 a head for us or our 12 year old. Management please note this is not Singapore.
Helpful to know McDonald's is on cnr for last minute happy meals after a big day out. Highly recommend this hotel. Wifi was hit and miss and comfort level of sofabed was what you can expect from a sofabed= uncomfortable. Beautiful courtyard would be great for a drink in warmer weather. All in all 10/10 we booked thru Expedia as booking direct with hotel was more expensive....go figure.

I've never had a problem with The Avenue before, and normally recommend it to my friends. We stay regularly and find the beds comfortable and the service attentive. Except on this occasion. My disappointment was due to the poor service and lack of follow through.

Great service and quality. The 2 bedroom apartment was very roomy and very well appointed. Even down to a teapot in the kitchen! The coffee pod machine was a welcome addition and the room service and all of the staff were very accommodating.
