We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment - it was spacious, including a kitchenette lounge area, big bathroom with bath and a bedroom. As we were travelling with an infant it was handy to have this much space. During our stay the air con broke, we requested a change of rooms and this was quickly accommodated. There was some difference between rooms - the first was dated and a bit grubby (stained couch, marks on the walls, dirty furniture) in comparison to the 2nd which must have been refurbished recently and much fresher. Both rooms overlooked the CBD .
They are centrally located in Civic with the shops at your doorstep as well as glebe park and many restaurants. We walked everywhere. Parking was available but at a cost of $15 per day.
We did not use these facilities but they were available for guests - guest lounge, rooftop courtyard, pool and half tennis court.
Overall it was a handy and easy place to stay.

The location was the only saving grace for me with this hotel. I had a studio apartment with no working phone, wi-fi or bedside light. I was told the phone and wi-fi weren't fixable and I didn't even bother with getting the light fixed. The room was ok on the clean scale but not great. Won't be staying there again! Also one of the girls working on the front desk clearly doesn't like her job and should find another one!

Room Tip: Don't stay there is my tip!

Dear KateFromTassie,

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience with us at the Waldorf Apartments Canberra, and please excuse the VERY belated reply.
I have only recently taken over as manager of the hotel, and I am disappointed to hear that the Team did not assist during your stay, and the room facilities were of a poor quality. We have recently upgraded the internet throughout the hotel.
I'm glad the location suited your needs.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future, and once again please accept my sincere apologies.

Warm regards,

Andrew Lockie

Good central location without exceeding your expectations. Rooms need a good scrub but generally quiet (it was a long weekend, so all of Canberra was quiet!) Room 801 is next to pool and outdoor recreation, and adjoins guest lounge, so noise may be a problem when higher levels of activity are happening in town.

Better breakfast across the road at the YHA and an easy walk to town centre and eat streets.

Parking can be touch and go as the serviced apartments are part of a residential complex.

Room Tip: 801 may be noisy when apartments fully occupied

The best thing about the Waldorf is its nice central location - handy to City Walk, the Canberra Centre, and buses to anywhere else around town.

Apart from that, it's nothing special, but pretty standard for this price in Canberra.
The king bed doesn't have a mattress topper on it, so the gap between the two single mattresses is obvious and uncomfortable.
Service is cursory at best.
To get to my room, I had to go up in the lift, down a hallway, out to an outside corridor (in the cold, wet and windy weather), back in through a security door and down another hallway. The process was confusing, and the handle on the first security door was very difficult to operate, however the staff made no mention of the unusual location of the room when I checked in.
No free wifi. In fact, from my room, no wifi at all.
