Excellent clean and quiet base for exploring Canberra. It know have been nicer to know the restaurant was closed for January but there is a wide range of eating establishments in a sgort walking distance of the hotel

Room Tip: We were on the 1st floor and despite lifting luggage up the steps, it was quieter with less foot fal...

Great location , beside parliament house. Grotty motel style rooms , ours was very smelly. There was a restaurant that wasn't open but I definatly wouldn't have used it anyway as the cafes if manuka are a short walk away. Reception staff were friendly & helpful and it was great value but I expected a hotel and it was not.

I too booked through Agoda and got a good price. The motel room was on the top floor and was clean and tidy. My husband had an evening meal which he said was fine, but of average quality. The Manuka shops are within walking distance, where there many good cafes and restaurants to dine. The National Gallery of Australia, Portrait Gallery, Old parliament House, Questacon and National Library are also not far away, but a decent walk, so a car is important. The motel is in a quiet, leafy street, typical of the area and not far from Rydges Hotel and a couple of clubs.

We booked a 1 bedroom apartment here through Agoda and got an excellent price – cheaper than the hotels’ online rate for a motel room.
We received a warm welcome at reception and were very impressed with the size of the unit. The kitchen was well equipped and had we been staying longer we would have been able to self cater quite happily. The couch in the living area was not the most comfortable, but was perfectly adequate. The bedroom had plenty of storage space and we found the bed to be particularly comfortable. The shower room was small, but the shower was very efficient.
We arrived on one of the hottest days of summer and were extremely grateful for the very effective aircon in the unit. However, with the door to the lounge closed at night, the bedroom did become quite stuffy. If you can stand the noise of the aircon then best to leave the bedroom door open.

The apartments are positioned slightly away from the main accommodation and although on one of the roads into Manuka, were very quiet and peacefully situated.

Unfortunately, as it was only 3 days after New Year, the chef was on his summer holidays and the restaurant was not open for evening meals – it would have been good to know this in advance. However, Manuka was only 3 blocks walk away and once there, we were spoilt for choice re dining options. We ate breakfast in the hotel dining room and whilst not brilliant, it was adequate and saw us through the day.

All in all, the hotel offers good value for money (if booked through somewhere like Agoda) and is conveniently located for access to the Parliamentary Triangle and Canberra City Centre. A word of warning.... we arrived by train and were dependent upon public transport. Canberra is a city best visited by car!!

Great location close to Manuka and a nice quiet spot. We stayed in a queen bed motel style room. The rooms are a little tired and ours smelt a bit musty when we first entered it but opening the window quickly fixed that issue. Otherwise the room was clean with good facilities in line with most motel style accommodation. Very friendly and informative reception on arrival

It was not expensive by Canberra standards but then Canbera is very expensive due to inflated governmental expense accounts. Forrest is close to Parliament House and Manuka where there are plenty of shops , bars and restaurants. Theroom price does not include free wi fi and this is an expensive extra.
Free milk, tea and coffee in the kitchen

Room Tip: try for an appartment only slighly dearer than a room and you get a lot more for your money

We needed a place to stay in Canberra that was not too expensive and close to the centre of Canberra., so we booked here. I then read the reviews which were all very negative. I contacted the hotel and told them of my worries and was assured that everything written was not true. Well, all I can say is that we stayed two nights, The room was an older room but extremely clean. Contrary to other reviews we had two quiet nights and was able to easily get a park in the hotel. It is close to everything and we would certainly recommend and stay here again. it added to a pleasant stay in Canberra.

Room Tip: If in doubt speak to the hotel and ask about any problems you are worried about
