The War Memorial was established after WW1 to enable Australians to gain some knowledge of what our men and women went through during the conflict. The charter of the memorial was expanded to include all subsequent conflicts. As a museum it is excellent so allow a full day in the galleries. The closing ceremony is a moving event and takes place each day at the closing of the memorial.
