“Hopeless access from carpark”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

Access to/from the main carpark for disabled is rubbish. there is a lift, but it is poorly located so that it must be operated by security. there is an escalator beside the stair, but the escalator only operates one direction.

“Aussie gallery with a European feel.”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

Brilliant gallery - can't fault anyone although with a big exhibition, I would suggest customer service people to faciliate the flow of people a little bit better..
Apart from that, visiting the gallery reminds me of visiting a gallery in Europe..
Great shop too, books are much cheaper here compared to Sydney etc.

“Nothing special”
Reviewed March 1, 2013 via mobile

I was expecting more aboriginal art but there wasn't much. There is a lot of the colonial era which was impressive. There is a huge section of abstract art which I didn't follow at all but an ok way to spend a few hours especially if its a rainy day

“Toulouse Lautrec Exhibition”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

Great exhibition with an interesting range of works on display. Not too crowded due to the good booking system in operation. The nearby abstract expressionist works on display in the gallery were also excellent and inspiring.

“Excellent new aboriginal galleries”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

The new aboriginal galleries at the NGA are amazing. I love the Lin Onus dingoes and there is some excellent art in the same room. The ash tray picture and "Austracism" work are very thought provoking and helped me see the world from an aboriginal perspective. I love the gum tree smells in the Sculpture Garden and this is a great way to relax at the end of a day meeting in Canberra!
