It was worth the trip from Melbourne to see this exhibition and all the other exhibits in the other rooms are also worth a visit. We spent the whole day in the gallery and enjoyed everything we saw, although the cafe is rather expensive, the food is better than average.

The national Gallery and especially the Sculpture Garden area when the mist is on should not be missed BUT the cafe and food is overpriced - just walk across the pedestrian bridge to the national Portrait Gallery for a great coffee and good food that is much better priced

I love the National Gallery. The exhibitions are fantastic. The Toulouse-lautrec is on at the moment, and is a must see! A big tip is to get the audio tour.

The pork belly was overcooked and accompanying salad ordinary. Wine was lovely, as were the fries, and my son''s sausage roll!

Regular vissits here as adults only - and for that its great. With younger kids though-very little to keep them entertained- even the "kids gallery"which took us 10 mns to walk to had NOTHING for kids right now except for a bucket of lego ! Didnt last here long - the cafe is very expensive- $6 for an iced chocolate (the ONLY kid friendly drink they have) and it was tiny...Give this a miss with kids...
