Stayed at Mantra while attending a conference in Canberra. Paid $200 a night (rather my employer paid)

The room and the bathroom were quite large, though very 80s. I would have preferred a smaller but more modern room.

Minibar prices were outrageous, of particular note is $6 for a bottle of water.

The location was good and central.

Overall it was a very no frills experience, ok for a business trip but wouldn't stay there for a holiday. Also the price was a bit steep in my opinion, then again there were no better options in central Canberra at the time.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay with us here at Mantra on Northbourne.
I appreciate your comments regarding the facilities and fixtures of the One Bedroom Apartment that you were allocated. It was pleasing to here that the room was very clean.
We do have the option of smaller Hotel Rooms if again travelling to Canberra and wish to book this as an alternative.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

Kind regards,

I stayed here for on night very recently and found it still to be a good solid, clean, tidy hotel with good staff. The room was smallish but the bed was a full sized queen that was very comfortable. The room fittings all worked. The iron and the ironing board were of good quality. To me this is a small thing but is shows that the hotel isn't skimping on the pate so to speak.

The TV is a decent size and it had a few pay TV channels. The picture was OK - it might be nearly time for a TV upgrade though.

The location is good - only a short distance from the centre of town and there is a McDonalds just around the corner.

Check in was quick and easy and check out was just as fast, although when I checked out the hotel system had crashed so it was a matter of ticking off my name and away I went. My room was on the 5th floor and it was fairly quiet. If you do get a room close to the ground floor on Northbourne Ave in Canberra you can expect a lot of traffic noise.

The bathroom was very clean but I did note that the toilet bowl was very close to the wall and in the seated position well....the toilet roll was right up against my left thigh. Now some will feel that this is a silly detail and some will say "too much information" but I do like easy access to my dunny paper!!! Still it is a small detail and again I couldn't fault the cleanliness of the room.

A good night's sleep...friendly fast service... This place is OK.

Room Tip: Go for the 5th floor or higher to avoid traffic noise.

Travelled to Canberra for the weekend. Our room was spacious and very clean. Parking comes with a $15 fee and breakfast isn't included either its about $20 per person for a cooked breakfast in the restaurant. The in room facilities are flat screen tv, balcony, kitchenette, spacious bath and shower, laundry and separate living and sleeping. We had a problem with our in room movie we perchased it and it never came up so we just rang from desk to cancel it and they did and took off the charge. We were happy with the customer service at this point. Overall out stay at this hotel was great. Walking distance to the Canberra centre shopping plaza and lots of great eating places also a short drive or bus ride to the Parliament House, War Memorial and Questacon.
