We stayed two nights just after Christmas. The restaurant was closed for dinner, but the bistro was open. We enjoyed our bistro dinner. The breakfast in the sunny courtyard was very nice.

Staff were helpful and friendly. There is lots of free outdoor parking with room for a caravan or trailer. They also boast a “Pampered Pet Package”, we will take our dog next time.

Our Superior King room (402) had a balcony, which looked onto rain water tanks and a brick wall. There was also a noisy drain just next to the balcony which gurgled every time someone upstairs flushed a toilet or ran a tap. Other than that it was a very nice room; large and clean.

The hotel is very close to the War Memorial. I wish it had a pool. Despite that, we will stay again.

The room is comfortable. Overall, it was a valuable stay. The breakfast was nice. The hotel locates at a quite, but convenient place.

A very well restored hotel that offers good accommodation conveniently on the edge of the main city centre. Staff are good, rooms well appointed and the breakfast well worth if for the regular traveller. To me the high ceilings and the history and patina make it a nice place to stay on my regular visits to Canberra.

We walked in off the street with no booking at all a week before Xmas, we were greeted enthusiastically by the receptionist who promptly booked us in.

Our room was a bit of a walk from reception but very comfortable and more than adequate.

Dinner at the Courtyard Restaurant was delightful. Every course was wonderful, perfectly prepared, perfectly presented and gastronomically superb. The waitress was engaging and very efficient. We enjoyed every minute.

We will definitely be back, we highly recommend this hotel and the restaurant to all, can't wait for breakfast tomorrow!

I stayed in a superior room here for a week and found the hotel to be like home away from home . The staff were very nice and helpful and one of them insisted on packing me some food when I had to skip breakfast for to rush to a meeting . Lots of character about this place .

Booked two standard rooms. One is pretty small, and with air conditioners outside the window - quite noisy during the night. Didn't bother to complain because we were staying for just one night. The other one is better.

Our Standard rooms are located in the Heritage wing, with the layout and style of room not changing from the hotels' original days. For those looking for a more modern layout, you may wish to select one of our Superior or Deluxe Loft rooms in the newer part of the building. Our guests have the option to dine at our onsite Courtyard Restaurant serving modern Australian cuisine in the evening and a choice of Continental or Buffet breakfast in the morning.
