The best thing about this hotel is the excellent and genuine service! The bed had a cloud cover so was very comfy. Air conditioner/heater was nice and quiet and worked well. Bathroom had great features and spa looked to die for (although i was unable to try it).
Due to an accident on the highway we got in around 11pm and it was nice to be able to go to the attached cafe and have a late dinner.
Room was very warm and cosy and super silent.

This hotel is well maintained with a lovely modern decor. The spa rooms are large with facilities to make breakfast and warm up food. Rooms are serviced daily to a high standard. The adjoining Tradies Club has excellent food. Parking is free, and a shopping centre is within easy walking distance. Rates are very reasonable for the standard of accommodation. Heating worked well and the bed was comfortable. I will stay at this hotel on my next visit to Canberra.

Room Tip: Booking via Expedia was cheaper than directly with the hotel.

I have stayed here numerous times with and without my partner and have found that the Quality Hotel Dickson has been very good to stay at. My recent stay was last night 27/6/13, my partner and I didn't book but turned up at reception and managed to get a room, it was a queen bed with a single bed, it was room 335, the room was really nice, the only complaint we had was the noise that came up from the function room.

Before booking a room check to make sure that you aren't going to be in the courtyard area where the functions are held as it can be very noisy. Note: There are rooms located on the same level as the function area and the floors above.

I advised the staff when I left this morning about the noise and it has been noted against my name not to put my partner and I within function area when we next stay here.

I haven't been to the restaurant for a meal but I have been to Bluey's Cafe for breakfast and dinner and everything my partner and I have had has been delicious, their burgers are great.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the club and function area if you want a good nights sleep

We stayed at the Quality Hotel Dickson for 4 nights. The room and ensuite were spacious and comfortably furnished and included tea/coffee making facilities. It was spotlessly clean and everything was in good working order. The staff were helpful and friendly. The (licenced) cafe and restaurant next door which are part of the Tradies Club (hotel guests have privileged access) was an added bonus where breakfast and other meals could be enjoyed at great prices. We had an early flight to catch on the last day but the cafe staff were accommodating and provided us with breakfast before opening hours. There is a shopping centre across the road (Woolworths, Harris Scarf, etc) which came in handy as we needed to buy winter woolies! We highly recommend this great little hotel and will definitely stay there again.

Stayed 2 nights at the Quality Hotel in Badham Street, Dickson right next door to the Tradies Club whilst on business. Doesn't look much from the outside but looks deceive. An excellent, large, modern room on the 2nd floor which would suit the most fastidious traveller. Very comfortable bed and the room was spotlessly clean. Easy walking distance to Northbourne Ave offices. Is situated within metres of the shopping centre and Dickson cafe precinct so lots (and lots) of food choices. Friendly and obliging front desk staff. Would have no hesitation staying here again. If only all hotel rooms were like this!

We stayed two nights at this hotel, it was in a great position for us not too far to the airport or to the city centre. It's quiet location close to a small shopping centre was ideal, with a bus stop just around the corner for the 20 minute bus journey into Canberra.

We really liked our room, very spacious and comfortably furnished with the added extra of a small kitchenette. Although eating out was easy enough with plenty of coffee shops and restaurants in the area. We ate in the Tradies Club which was attached to the Hotel, the food was reasonable and service excellent.

We were also very impressed with the hotel staff who were courteous and helpful. A nice smile and pleasant greeting makes all the difference, and they were obviously well trained in customer service.

Where this hotel falls short of the mark is the failure to provide free wifi, this should certainly be available in public areas at least. It's very frustrating to find large chain hotels who don't appreciate the importance of providing good Internet connections as a service to their customers. On principle we don't pay these high tariffs instead enjoy a nice coffee with free wifi in a local cafe.

This is the only thing which stops us from scoring 5/5 overall.

This hotel offers very comfortable and clean rooms, and is in a great location with shops, restaurants, petrol stations etc next door. A big bonus is that it is linked to the club and the food there was nice.
We booked a cheap rate ($114.00) on the hotel website in a Standard room and were very lucky to get upgraded to a One Bedroom apartment. While it is still only one room, it's really spacious and has a very comfortable king size bed in it; the room has a nice feel about it and we really enjoyed our overnight. We will definitely return to this hotel if we can get a similar rate.

Room Tip: When booking online, check the hotel website, as they usually have the same prices as last minute.co...
