“View to be admired.”

Beautiful day made this exercise very much a worthwhile one. Magnificent views from the summit of Mt Ainslie which is only a few minutes from the city centre.

“Good overview of the capital”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

Can see right down to Parliament House and to the airport as well as the main centre of canberra (civic). Could do with some facilities since there's only a little caravan selling drinks.

“Canberra ...city of varied attractions”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2013

Canberra the capital of Australia is a very planned city designed by the Chicago based architect Walter Griffin on the Molangolo river and surrounded by hills and sheep pasture lands. The original word Canberra is taken from the aboroginal language meanind "a meeting place" There is a man made lake named very well after the architect, the broad avenues, the flyovers, the beutifull diplomatic enclave, roads named after major cities of Australia and its geomatric design speaks volumes of this city..
There are many beutifull look out points of this city namely Mt Ainslie,Black Mt, with the Telstra Tower,Red Mt and Mt Pleasant.Mt Ainslie is the most beutiful of the lot with a circular road on its top so that you can have a panormic view of the whole city. The greenary, the ice wind and the view of the red gravel capitol the distant parliament building with its massive flag the War Memorial are really the sites to see.
A must see place is a walk in Aviary in the Gold Creek Valley in the Nicholls subarb. It is privately owned having a coloufull variety of parrots, parakeets, doves and many more birds of Austraalian and foreign origins. You can feed the birds, photograph them and are a real source of enjoyment both to the young and old..It is a must see in your Canbera visit.

“Lookin'”

It was HORRIBLE. I froze to death up there and the view was just terrible because my mind couldn't concentrate because of the cold. There were like, five seats and no toilets in sight.

“A great free view of Canberra”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013 via mobile

You get excellent views of the War Museum and Parliament House from Mount Ainslie. The best thing is that it is free. It will cost $7.50 to go up Telstra Tower but you do get different views.
