The cabin was clean and comfortable. Restaurant and laundry facilities on site. BBQ facilities available as well as Internet. Very safe for families with children. Heating available for the colder seasons. Friendly staff always willing to assist.

Room Tip: Choose a cabin towards the back area away from in/out traffic. Much quieter.

Our family: 2 adults, 4 kids ages 5,8,10,14. We stayed for 4 nights in June.

The Cabin
We stayed in a Wattle Glen cabin. The cabin was very clean and tidy on arrival, all appliances were modern and new. Take note, Canberra accommodation seems very pricey no matter where you go, and this cabin was the best price we could find for our budget holiday. As a comparison, on our way home to Brisbane we stay one night in Port Macquarie on the water in a very similar cabin though it was twice the size and half the price. Overall the cabin was very clean, tidy and adequate for a budget trip. During the day we were visiting all the great places around Canberra so the cabin was really only a place to sleep. The self contained kitchen was adequate for making dinners and lunches. The table only seats four but we made do and the six of us squished around it okay.
Temperatures got down to -2 outside and the reverse cycle air-con did very well of keeping the whole cabin warm during the night. The bed spread and one fleece blanket that was supplied was more than adequate with the air-con. The hot water for the shower was great, lasting for all six of us to have a shower.

The Location.
We thought the location of the motor village was excellent. You are only 10 minutes from all the attractions in Canberra, shopping centers etc. Having said that the park is in a beautiful bush setting with some nice bush walks in the surrounding hills and up to Black Mountain and Telstra Tower. The park is very clean and tidy also.

On our last morning we had the all you can eat breakfast which was BEAUTIFUL!

Car parking outside each cabin is fine also.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our daughter became quite ill for a few days and the staff at reception were great, they promptly printed out a list of local doctors for us.

For the kids: The is a pool (we didn't use it in June!!!), a tennis court and a small playground.

At $44 per night for a powered site I think is too dear.It is very clean, the amenities blocks get cleaned twice every day, but they are very tired looking. The showers are the best I have ever had pressure wise but pls guys...... put up shower curtains to stop water wetting all your belongings. The Laundry is top state... 8 new machines and dryers, but are up at the office part not at the amenities block.

We stayed in a Wattle Glen Premium cabin, $236 for a Saturday night in school holidays for 2 adults and 3 teens. Family accommodation in Canberra is so expensive (especially for more than 4), so this was the best value option we could find. Only 10min drive from centre of city. The cabin was your standard caravan park fare, thin walls, double bed in 1 room and 2 sets of double bunks in 2nd room. Beds were OK, bathroom tiny, heating did at least work (boy you need it in Canberra in winter!) and kitchen functional. Very few power points, so worthwhile to bring a power board if you have to charge the usual gadgets with 5 people. Car parking near each cabin is very small and hard to manoeuvre.

This is funny sort of place and it is like it can't make up its mind to be either a caravan park or a motel. We have stayed here before but would only stay here if we are attending Canberra Stadium. It's only a 10 minute walk to the stadium on a sealed track through bushland so you can avoid having to drive and get a park or avoid the long wait for a cab back to the city. We stayed in a cabin which was really over priced. About $150 for three people in a thin walled caravan without wheels where only one person can get a proper view of the small TV. Tiny room and tiny bathroom. I would not have minded if I had only paid half the price (that is what it is really worth). I would not recommend staying here if you are not attending the stadium, I must say that the place is clean and I found the receptionist friendly and professional.

Room Tip: Avoid the cabins and get a motel room

Arrived to this late afternoon looking for an unpowered site. Told by rude and condescending receptionist that we could not use an unpowered site as we sleep inside our station wagon ( have been doing so for three months travel across Australia without any issue). We were sharply told "this is not the place for you"(!!?). Crazy attitude given empty park.
When we asked for a powered slab site we were told they were only for caravans. When I questioned this we were told the reason was too hard to explain!

Shockingly lazy and arrogant attitude from receptionist. Extremely condescending towards travellers. We were not offered any alternative accommodation such as cabins and were in so many words told that our kind wasn't welcome. We are a professional couple on holidays and and being treated like this is an absolute joke.
Their bizarre and illogical policy needs to be revised and their apathetic and rude staff need to be actually trained in customer service. Avoid this campsite and go to Crestview Tourist Park instead.

We originally were booked into a Wattle Glen premium cabin that was recommended by the park for our family of five (2 adults, 2 teenagers and 1 younger child). This cabin was too small for a family of five and definitely not premium. The dinning room table could not sit five and the bathroom was extremely small. Car park allocated would not fit car in, you had to park across the curbing, which is dangerous and not good for your cars wheel alignment. Even small hatchbacks struggled too fit in.
Management needs to make customers aware of the small living room areas and parking limitations in the cabins.

Upon discussing this with manager we upgraded to a two bedroom villa which is more suitable to a family of five! Note these are expensive but much better option than the cabins. ($280 per night for 5 people vs $230 for cabin). Alll accommodation in Canberra appears to be expensive.

Overview of two bedroom villa -
* spacious and clean
* nice master bedroom
* poor mattresses on single beds (especially considering cost)
* good bathroom
* good kitchen, including good sized fridge, but only convection microwave, no oven.
* nice extras like espresso coffee machine and good knife set
* two good sized TVs one in lounge, other in master bedroom.
* nice balcony
* good car park space

Overview of wattle glen premium cabin-
* very small living area and bathroom
* kitchen bench space very limited
* inadequate car park space
* clean but dated
* surrounded by concrete no gardens

Park facilities overview-
* excellent pool area
* good on site bistro and take away - reasonable meals and prices.
* friendly and helpful reception staff
* BBQ areas - not enough and ones available too small (no work benches for preparation, you need to sit your containers etc on ground)
* laundry area was good, very modern
* playground was good but only useable for under 9 years old, only facilities for teenagers was pool area and tennis courts (no games rooms etc)
* gardens, limited or in some parts of park non existent.
* Wifi doesn't work across most of park although they advertise free wifi

Park needs to reduce number of cabins too many squashed in. Increase parking space allocations, improve gardens and BBQ areas. Would be good to see additional facilities such as a games room for the older children.

Friendly staff in reception and bistro area make up for some of parks shortfalls.

We will look for alternative accommodation next time.

Room Tip: If there are more than three of you and you are staying more than one night, pay the extra and get a...
