Great location, lovely vibe. The staff were absolutely wonderful and very friendly. The menu is reasonably priced but has little options for people who have dietary requirements e.g. vegetarian / vegan. I would recommend Peppers Galley for people of all ages and mobility requirements.

What an amazing hotel is the gorgeous Peppers Gallery....!
Old-style big rooms...remember those...???
Wonderfully comfortable bed and great rain shower....!!! Great bathroom amenities and even a pod coffee machine....!!!
I don’t know that I would want to stay anywhere else in Canberra....!!!

Arrived at hotel and found a luggage trolley unloaded car and rolled up to reception. No help with luggage only 1 person on reception. Not a good start. Booked in and received directions to room. began pushing fully laoded luggage trolley past reception in ful view. Proceeded to the lift and then to our floor and found that before the room there are steps and no way to get luggage trolley to room. Lugged baggage to room (have been travelling 3 weeks so lots of luggage) not o good start. Room was interesting. Reasonable size but quirky layout due to the fact that this is an old refurbished building so possibly no wall changes.Could not view the TV from the sofa. Greta blackout blinds in room but glass door on bathroom and no blackouts in bathroom saw the sun streaming in early in the morning. Not much thought here. In any case went to the bar for drinks in a less than savoury state ready for problems. ordered our free cocktails with low expectation and viola great service terrific cocktails and a new sense of calm. we enjoyed the cocktails so much we ordered additional and returned each night. Congratulations to the bar staff excellent. Restaurant was also really good.
Room tip: If you have luggage get a room on the same level as the lift

Overall, a pretty good place to stay. However, there was a feeling of it being slightly undercooked. Some minor things that you'd normally were missing or were out of place. E.g. the room seemed to be fully equipped with a coffee machine, kettle, coffee pods, tea, sugar, but there where neither cups nor teaspoons – only glasses. Try to make yourself a cup of tea in a glass fearing it'll crack under boiling water and good luck holding it in your hands...
