There was a group of 9 of us. It was a long drive from the ship to the beach. We were charged $30 per person for a few hours. They only had a buffet - that was offered and we were never offered to order off the menu. The buffet was mediocre. Drinks were free flowing...if that is what you are looking for - this is the place. Pool was small and by the time several folks arrived it was very crowded. The music was very loud at the pool - if you sat anywhere near the bar - no way to carry on a conversation. Water on the beach was not clear - but overall the beach was good. Great lounge chairs and clean. Wait staff attentive. We did not stay in the rooms.

When you depart Progresso and head for Telchac Puerto you will notice there are no restaurants, and/or nothing you would stop to tell anyone about until you come to mile marker 25.5km; The Technotel HOTEL is on the left and is wigned well. There is a short dirt driveway to the entrance gate with a guard, just say "Restaurante", drive in to the center building and park. We arrived at 530pm, the last tour bus from cruise ships departed 2 hours ago. The place was literally empty except the staff was full. Two of the waiters tried some English, but its okay because the menu is in English/Spanish for every ite, The prices are so very cheap. We decided on the Ribeye, mine was grissly but tasted good. The Manager soon came to my rescue after I had ate my vegetables and potatoes and gave nme a steak knife and insisted on replacing the ribeye for free, a better one. I ate 75% of the first and he returned to me more vegetables and another ribeye, cooked to order. His name was Captain Antonio, a fine Mayan man who spoke very much English. We talked for 2 hours, he brought up Trump and his President, which is conversations you don't normally have with the locals. The food was very good and the service too. A Canadian neighbor told us about this place, even though it is in a hotel compound, it is a great place where you can get a Ribeye for under $8USD. Beer was $1.50USD, selections of breads with different hot sauces and mushrooms diced and cooked for the steaks. This place is friendly, English menu and excellent value. There are no gas stations just a nice highway (27) that everyone seems to speed on. TRY THIS PLACE, WE WILL RETURN as its 8km from our Beach House rental.I was going to rate it Very Good but overall it is a 5 Star because of the food quality, the English menu, the staff';s friendliness at making us feel welcome. but BRING SOME BUGSPRAY, one of us was ate alive and the other untouched. We did not stay here at the hotel but it is very clean grounds and buildings are maintained well, cruise ship bus comes and people stay on the beach and eat here for 5 hours before they go back on their cruise. They write good reviews. This place deserves more business, so if you are out and about, come on down road YUC 27 towards Telechec Puerto and stop before you get that far at 25.5km you will not be sorry, drinks and food are great.

We recently visited Progresso when we got off a cruise for an excursion. We decide to take a taxi to the plaza where we were offered to do an all you can eat and drink beach excursion at Technotel. My husband, kids and myself decided to go. It was $35 for adults and $20 for 3 of our boys who are 10 and 11 and our 7 year old got in for free. The wait staff was awesome and very attentive and pay attention to detail as they usually are at these beaches and the beach was very pretty and clean. If your family likes to find seashells on the beach they will love this place. We found so many different kinds of unbroken awesome shells. The food was ok and the water isn't that great but it is part of the gulf so I knew to expect that. All in all it was a great day of memories made for my family and we will go back next time we are in Progresso.

Popped not the restaurant for dinner and was amazed at the food. Authentic Mexican/Mayan cuisine at very reasonable prices. Staff was very helpful and quick to help us translate our selections into Spanish.

We booked a tour with Serigio's Tours and they brought us here for a 2 hour lunch pass. We paid a small tip to the waiters and our alcohol content went up. My kids had the best time playing in the water. It was cloudy, but we normally go to Galveston so by comparison, this was amazing! We could walk out into the ocean quite far. The kids pool was a great place to get changed and let the kids get a last minute swim in. The food was phenomenal, the shopkeepers were friendly, and bathrooms were clean. This was a great stop and we look forward to coming back should we ever cruise to Progreso again!
