The apartments are curved out of a recently renovated big house situated quite near the water's edge in Dobrota about a six minute drive from Kotor. The property is difficult to find as it is located off Dobrota's sea road through an unnamed access road. It took us quite a while to find it but once you are there you appreciate the quietness of the location.
We stayed in a one bedroom apartment with a kitchen diner that also doubled as a bedroom at night. The only problem with this setup is that I was woken up by the fridge every time the compressor came on. That was very annoying. The others had a massive bedroom with beautiful antique furniture and a large comfortable bed. The bedroom had a large balcony which we used at night to relax and take in the bay and mountains opposite as we sipped our coffee. The kitchen had everything you need except a washing machine but this wasn't a problem as the landlady let us use hers. They also supplied us with a cot bed for my niece. The bathroom was small but clean and modern. Parking is very tight. Getting to Kotor is quite quick but a chore to get out of the tight space of the hotel and another chore to negotiate Dobrota's narrow sea road.
The owners were very nice and accommodating. We came one day later than agreed but Mr Bogdanovic didn't charge us for that night even though he told us to stick to the agreed days as he was extremely busy.

Though Boka Kotorska Bay is not known for its clean water or beaches, as really there are none, just little man-made gravel "beaches", nevertheless people still use the bay to swim in. I wouldn't get in if you paid me as the bay water is too still and so not replenished enough for my liking.
Boka Kotorska polarises people. There are those that really don't like it because it is too enclosed and dark in the winter - claustrophobic-like, and there are those that see it as beautiful and imposing. I think it is beautiful, I just wouldn't swim in the water. There is nothing to do in Dobrota other than find a restaurant or do a little swimming so you head for medieval town of Kotor, which is not a patch on old Dubrovnik or old Split. One or two days is enough in the Boka unless you want to use it as a base to go trekking or cycling.
If you want to see something really beautiful then take the old road from Kotor to Cetinje and stop at the highest point where you can look down and see the entire bay. Try and get there just before sun down it is well worth it.

If I went to Dobrota would stay at the same location, I prefer it to Kotor itself which is down the road anyway.
