Description: Slaley Rose and Crown is a grade 2 listed building and is owned and operated by the community which it serves. It is currently the only community owned pub/restaurant in the North East. We guarantee you a warm welcome and will serve you with freshly cooked, locally sourced food prepared in house by our expert Head Chef. We are a Freehouse and stock a good range of beers, real ales, wines, spirits, soft drinks etc. We have comfortable recently refurbished B&B letting rooms and are currently working on a flat which we propose to rent as holiday accommodation. Please phone for details. We are situated in the heart of the Northumberland countryside and enjoy spectacular views to the rear.

Visited as we had been to Slaley for an activity. Glad we found this pub! Great choice of food & drinks. I loved my fish pie which can served with vegetables.Looked to be a good beer garden out back for sunnier days. Friendly staff, cozy feel.
Only negative - Ladies room could do with a good scrub.

If you love great homemade food in a fantastic rural pub in the North Pennines you must visit the Rose and Crown in the pretty village of Slaley. You will not find better value or better service anywhere. We took friends for dinner earlier this week and enjoyed it so much we went back two evenings later.
Well done to all at the Rose and Crown

We walked a couple of miles to have an early dinner ( on recommendation ).
Just a great place to enjoy the very best steak pie ( Yes a real pie ! ) I have tasted for many a year. None of this puff top rubbish most places dish up.
You have to go and try it for yourself to see what I mean.
Unfortunately I was a tourist and live about two hours drive away, BUT I will be back.
Great friendly staff too which is a big bonus .
Thank you.

Stayed here overnight. Friendly welcome with very helpful staff. The food is very good and affordable. Superb selection of ales available. The community owned project is both admirable and enjoyable. I can only hope that it's success will continue for many years.
