“Excellent Canal Cuisine”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

We booked an evening meal here to round off our Caledonian Canal cruise on a yacht hired from West Highland Sailing at Laggan Locks. It's necessary to inform the Barge owners of your menu choice in advance as the food is cooked to order from fresh ingredients, sourced locally. This shows in the quality of the dishes, which are very well cooked and presented. The bar is comprehensively stocked with real ales and a fine selection of malts. Our final bill was very reasonable, given the quality of the food and service. The ambience of the Barge is warm and welcoming, and provided a memorable end to our holiday.

“What more could you want to end a great day”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

This is my first review on tripadvisor
And I only do so to ensure others come to this wee gem off a resturant/pub/place to meet good people.
The food was great.
The beer was cold.
The banter was good.
What more could you ask for

If ur on the caladonian canal
Or just passing by car
A place to visit

“Lucky find”
Reviewed September 29, 2012 via mobile

We were a group of guys heading up to the Isle of Skye for a week when yet again one wanted to eat. Luckily I caught the sign for the floating pub and pulled in. What a surprise.. a great lplace to find. A beautiful setting with a friendly welcome, good beer, comfort food and great choice of whiskey. Good luck to the guy we met in there doing the John o groats to lands end walk for army charity. A unique little gem.

“A great Week”
Reviewed July 31, 2012

Stayed at Laggan for a week in July with daughter and son-in-law. Went to the Eagle on the first night for a bar meal; it was so good we went back on four further nights either for food or just a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable evening. This is one of the friendliest and most enjoyable places I have visited in many years of travelling. A word of warning though, if you intend sampling a lot of the inns and pubs in the area don't start with the Eagle because if you do you probably won't bother to see the rest, it really is that good!
Thanks for a great week, good atmosphere, good food, good drink, live music and magic at the bar; what more could you ask for?
