We had decided to try this out knowing it was under new ownership, our previous experience having not been great.
The initial email enquiry was not responded to, but the call to book the table was fine. On arrival staff were friendly, though it did feel a little rushed, particularly to take the order. However there was a larger party in so they may have been trying to avoid delays. This was fine but could have been explained.
Our waitress was very friendly, chatty with no complaints at all.
The food however was disappointing. It is a basic menu which wasn't particularly an issue, however the standard was of a level you would expect from some of the well known frozen food supermarkets. It certainly didn't have the feel of any home cooked food, but rather reheated pre prepared meals. The saving grace was the cheeseboard which was very good. We aren't sure if there is a bar menu but it would have benefitted from some salad options and club sandwich type fayre.
You cannot fault the staff and hopefully the menu will soon reflect the standard the owners managed at their previous establishment.
