The Castle has recently changed hands after many years with the same owner. Well-known for it's steaks, we visited recently. The steaks are still on the menu but not much else! I believe there was a choice of four main meals, including the steak, none of which were particularly attractive. The steak was good as ever but ruined by presentation, lack of accompaniments (just dry chips and some peas, no mushroom, tomato or other garnish). Also expensive. When we saw the menu and prices we considered going elsewhere, but wanted to give the new owners a try.
The pub itself remains fine, just check the menu before you commit to visiting the restaurant. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant, and I am sure that they will improve on a poor start in the coming months.
