We came here to celebrate our friends 18 year olds birthday, and to be honest, the noise as you enter the restaurant, for me, was horrendous. But, it's aimed at youngsters, so you gotta put up with it. After a while, you don't notice it, so, not really a problem.
The decor is 50s and 60s Americana, very well done, but the kids with us who the decor was aimed at, didn't know who the Marylin Monroe statue was! Unbelievable!
Speed of service, very slow. We booked for 8pm, were sat down at 8.10, ordered drinks which took 20 minutes to arrive, the starters arrived at 9pm. Main course at 9:35. Ok, this was a Saturday night, but this is when you they should have a full compliment of staff. We had a drink at the bar before sitting down, and the barman couldn't work the till. I wouldn't want to embarrass the man by moaning, but if it was his first night, which I think it was, then he should have back up.
Complaints over. The atmosphere was great, music also. We sat for a long time, and was still comfortable when we left at 11pm. Food superb, very tasty and well presented. My starter, a prawn cocktail was bung full of prawns.
Through the evening there were five separate birthdays which the whole room sang Happy Birthday to, it was that kind chummy place. As I said earlier, I was a bit put off by the noise, but it's all part of the venue.
I would go again, but would avoid Saturday night, and book for earlier in the evening.
