We went to Buddies for my best friend's 40th birthday dinner. We were a group of 5, two of which have special dietary needs. I found the place to have a lovely warm cozy atmosphere. Service was slow. A bit too slow for my liking but seeing we weren't in a hurry it didn't matter to the rest of the group. I ordered the Sautéed Wild Mushroom with the fried egg. It was very tasty. A huge portion that would be a great lunch or brunch item. Then I had the Sirloin (med/rare) with chips and stilton pate sauce. My steak was cooked to perfection, it had wonderful flavor and was tender. A very good steak. You get a huge portion of chips, I would suggest one order and share. One of our friends did get the Truffle chicken liver to start and it is very good....very rich, but good. For my friends that needed to have certain food items substituted, it was not a problem and our server was great about helping them out. We did not have desert....NO room! But because it was a birthday, they did bring out a tiramisu (the birthday girl could not eat so the rest of us enjoyed), it was not overly sweet and sticky, like they can be sometimes.

Came here for a change to the usual restaurants in Beckenham. The decor is good and there was a nice atmosphere. The staff seemed pleasant and attentive. We weren't very hungry so didn't have a starter, and both ordered a burger for a main course.Reasonably priced at £ 9.95 and was large with plenty of chips.Wine wasn't dear and fairly good.Didn't have dessert but saw some being served with great presentation. The burger was ok,nothing fantastic but will probably return and try other things on the menu. Nice change

Went for Lucy two weeks ago and it was fantastic. But returned on a Saturday night and food was bland and cold. Not impressed as the lunch was excellent. Seems they can't deal with a full house. The burger we ordered tasted pre cooked and was just heated up on the grill. Will return but only for lunch or mid week when it's not as busy

I love the atmosphere of the restaurant, it is very delightful and full of colour. Food absolutely fresh and delicious. Love the wine variety and quick service and can not wait to revisit.
