Ok, clearly I'm a fan :) If you can find this place open when you're passing by (hours are 10 to 10 Tuesday through Friday), do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't regret it.

Stopped in around lunch time on a Friday. Only one other couple there at that time, but it quickly filled soon after.

Started with a margarita and a pina colada. Both were the best I've had. Ever. Pina colada was refreshing, not too sticky and sickeningly sweet like some can be. The margarita was the true thing, not just way-too-much-sour-mix-on-ice like so many in the States.

Ordered the chorizo and cheese appetizer, which came fondue-style on a mini charcoal melting pot. Refried beans were a big part of this dish, which also came with fantastic homemade chips, a type of pico, and the house special hot sauce (which is so good, we bought 3 bottles to take back home).

The grilled fish and pork chop dishes that came out looked exquisite. I didn't have these, but the other customers raved about them.

Dessert was island lime pie. Reminiscent of key lime pie, with a honey drizzle. One word: superb.

The owner paid great personal attention to every dish. Everything is homemade, so you get a very individual taste (waaaay better than chain/resort spots).

Everything was fantastic. My favorite dining on the island. I'm truly sorry to see any negative reviews on here. I would be happy to buy those people a second round at Cal's, to see if maybe I could change their minds :)

We had four drinks (forgot to mention the First Bight Breeze cocktail was fab as well), a huge appetizer, and dessert for about $23. Quite reasonable for food/beverages of this quality. I hope to go there again before leaving the island.

I've eaten at Cal's several times and always had outstanding food and excellent service. When friends from 'off-island' visit us we make sure that they get to eat there as well. I've never been disappointed. The food is fresh, perfectly cooked and the presentation is stunning. It doesn't look like much from the road but when you see the views and feel the breeze from the dining area you will be impressed!

We've been around awhile and eaten a lot of meals but this was the most amazing meal we've ever had. Make sure you order desert too - even if you think you're too full, it's worth the pain. The whole place has atmosphere and view and it just couldn't get any better. We're going back for more.

for sure NOT no. 2 in roatan! It is a long long way from anywhere and the food is a total disappointment. Be prepared to wash the grease smells off your hair when you get home! Lobster so overcooked it was difficult to get out of the shell, worst meal in two weeks on this island. Save your taxi or gas money and go elsewhere.

We’re very sorry you were disappointed in your meal, especially if you made the trip from West End. If you find yourself on the east side of Roatan again, I hope you’ll stop by and give us another chance to please you. We take pride in our unique menu and there’s nothing we like more than a happy customer.
