New accommodations with nice choice of materials but (if you ask me) poor finishing.

Electrical wiring for water heater in the bath room unsecured. No hot water first night, no action next day, some action 3rd day but still no hot water, changed to another room with hot water on first night, 2nd night however also no hot water. Taking a shower for too long (>5min) gets ur bathroom flooded and water running till the bedroom.

No internet in rooms, poor internet in open air restaurant and reception.

Most rooms/apartments foreseen with fully equiped kitchen and washing machine and dryer.

Stayed there for 2 weeks but didn't have time to enjoy the resort; evvironment and views are very nice but think its more fore short term stays unless you have a car to explore rest of the island.

Part of resort still in construction fase.

Very large pool too bad it doesn't have view on, connection with the beach.

Thuroughly enjoyed our stay the property is perfect rooms are large and comfortable. The staff is excellent courteous and extremely helpful. We had originally booked a different hotel but after arriving decide to move and that was definently the right choice. The front office staff especially Rosio were outstanding she arranged all our activities quickly and efficiently. Can't say enough about our experience.

My wife, four girls, and myself spent the day here. Our driver (Richard Benedith of Benedith Tours) recommended Parrot Tree. Its such a beautiful, peaceful, and quiet resort, the grounds are beautiful from the moment you drive in. The pool is out of this world. The whole resort is the picture of relaxation and the lagoon is just as nice as the pool. The snorkeling in the lagoon was pretty decent. never got a chance to go outside the lagoon but I imagine it is good. We are planning on spending a week here on our next vacation. The rates are very reasonable! Our driver Richard Benedith was awesome. We will definitely use him on our next trip to beautiful Roatan Hunduras!!!!

Didn't stay at Parrot Tree but after diving with Barefoot Divers we drove up there for lunch. The location is fabulous and the staff attentive. $15 for a hamburger seemed tad high by island standards but the location enticed us to splurge and enjoy. Sadly the burgers were made from grocery store patties and arrived cold, The iced tea was Lipton's served in a bottle. Personally, I believe in that price range a but more effort should go into getting it right. Overall bill came to $60 USD for a burger lunch for four.

So just got back from my vacation over at The Parrot Tree Plantation in Roatan, Honduras. This was a last minute plan with my cousins from the mainland. We took the Ferry from the mainland which took about an hour. When we arrived we were greeted by everyone on the Island. We checked into Parrot Tree and right from when we entered the complex it was beautiful. We reserved the Jacuzzi room which is beautiful. The only trouble we had was that the water shut off in the building we were staying in and were moved to a different one immediately. The staff were very attentive with getting us moved. Once we were moved we enjoyed everything. They celebrated the day of the woman at the Palapa Bar and Grill. We had an awesome experience. I would recommend this Resort to anyone. It's beautiful.

We booked a last minute trip to Roatan, and tried to find a hotel in West Bay, where there is more action, but all was booked. We ended up at the Parrot Tree Plantation and were absolutely thrilled! We were with our teenage daughter and she loved it too. The place is beautiful, the condos quite luxurious, all marble and fine wood, with a kitchen stocked with every kitchen appliance you could need! We cooked many of our meals, but also enjoyed some delicious meals at the hotel's restaurant. Our only complaint would be slow service at the restaurant (an hour!), (and somewhat limited menu if you don't cook much) so plan to go a little ahead, when you are not starving, enjoying a drink while listening to the music.they should bring munchies while you wait!
The cost of the room includes a breakfast buffet or à la carte menu, and we were very happy with it. I am very picky when it comes to food, and want fresh, tasty, healthy meals, and we got just that (I can't stand greasy overcooked foods)! the only thing: I hope they get an expresso machine!! The staff was very nice, always smiling and willing to help. In fact, we were a bit late leaving for the airport and the resort manager offered to drop us off in her own vehicule! She called the airport and our airline to say 'listen Suzie, I've got so and so here and make sure you wait for them!) Mwow. The adrenaline level went down after that!
They have the most beautiful swimming pool I have ever seen. With beautiful beds with canopies to lazy around on...
We visited Westbay one day, and boy were we happy we were not in the middle of that crazy wild action! There was blazing tacky music and tons of people on the beach.(To be fair, it was aroung New Year's, so, busy). At the end of the day, we were quite happy to return to our beautiful place. We decided to experience with the local bus to go back, and we had fun! Did you know you can fit 19 people in a VWW?
The person commenting here who got off a ship to spend the afternoon at the hotel complaining of blaring music did not stay for the beautiful nice evenings. Yes, there are ships who stop on the island and bring tourists to various hotels for a few hours, a couple of times a week, and for those few hours, the music goes up and activities are organised on the beach. But we enjoyed that diversion, and enjoyed the peaceful times after they left.
You can snorkell right from there, on your own, or use the guides who sell their services. My daughter was petrified of snorkelling, so we used the guide one day, and he taught her how to become at ease in the ocean. The other 'little secret' about this place is that the corals are much nicer/intact, being away from the very busy West bay.
We had spent more money then we had planned, so we did not rent a car, but it would have been nice to rent a car for the week and explore the island and restaurants. Taxis will take you anywhere, though: they'll ask 20US a piece, which we always negotiated for 20$ for all of us (from Plantation to WestBay- so cheaper -10$- to take you to the grocery store).
We went ziplining (they picked us up and brought us back, after agreeing to let us do our food shopping and go to the bank!). That was crazy fun (and I don't do ladders, so imagine how I must have freaked all wilderness away..).
My only regret was not to be able to take long beach walks - the resort is right against a coral reef, so they built a retaining wall to have a quiet 'inner' beach, which turns out fine, (and clean! they rake the beach daily, and the water circulates well) but we ended up taking long walks in surrounding trails instead (in the mountain). And the walk on the long beach in WestBay, tripping over bodies, well, I can do without! And 'noseums', well, they're a part of wilderness, but they spray with some environmentally friendly stuff, and they were not that bad, but you have to bring some bug repellent out there. Forget citronella, go for Deepwoods, but I also bought their Blue Ocean organic oils and it worked most of the time.
So, yes, I'd go back anytime!

Room Tip: All condos face the ocean, some closer to the restaurant (the hang out) then others. There are condo...

We came on a 1 day visit on a cruise ship stop. When we arrived, this place was paradise! So beautiful, empty, quiet with a lovely lagoon that you could snorkel in and an ocean that you could snorkel in.

We were having an excellent time until at about 11 am, they started BLARING very loud music for "activities." There was an annoying woman talking over the extremely loud music, which made it even worse. There was no escape from the loud music and childish activities (that no one wanted to do, and she had to keep asking and asking people to join in). We went over to the far side of the lagoon, and it was still just as loud. We asked her and someone else to turn it down, but they refused. Luckily, the noise lasted for 2 or 3 hours, and we were able to have some peace after that. It's too bad, because before this horrible experience we were really considering coming back and staying here. Their loss.

As for the food in the restaurant, it was ok. There wasn't much local cuisine on the menu, but we did have some great ceviche and local beer. I guess next time we should plan better.

Also, the snorkeling in the lagoon wasn't that great, and the snorkeling in the ocean wasn't that much better. Plus, there is a wall separating the ocean from the lagoon, so if you get tired or start to panic or the water gets choppy, you are SOL.
