Arrived real late, foggy, rainy, cold.
The restaurant was only open for another 40 minutes, we had been driving for 7 hours, tired, etc, etc.
They made check-in to the hotel a snap, showed us where, etc.
We were in the restaurant way past their usual closing time. No rush, no worries. The owner speaks a little English, but he really appreciates it when you use what Spanish you know. Friendly, warm, family atmosphere.

The Hotel was pretty basic. Definitely recently renovated, new floors throughout, modern shower facilities, etc. The shower had better pressure than the one we have at home!
The menu was reasonably priced, a good selection. Try the baked cheese over bananas desert! Crazy! I would never have put those items together, but wow, and big!

All in all a friendly place. A bit rustic, but there arent a lot of alternatives that far away, way up in the mountains. An easy drive to Poas volcano or Waterfall Gardens.

I stayed at the hotel in June, it was a great experience. The staff we extremely friendly and spoke enough English to communicate. They we helpful in organizing our transport around town. The owner Mario even drove us to the national park one morning. Clean rooms. The restaurant food and atmosphere was also excellent. I was a nice relaxing place to stay.

The fish in the aquarium were gigantic, and the best seats were right next to them which is where the owner was sitting reading his religious "christian book for men", which he tried to get me to read. The fajitas were excellent, the cheeseburgers tasted like cardboard. The food was average, the owners were friendly, but no english was spoken, and my visitors only speak english. The owners showed no interest in communicating in the language of their guests. The place looked clean, and space was ample.

Popular place for locals and tourists. Steaks are often tough in CR but they were good and flavorful here. Easy to find location and well priced for the quality of food. Service was pleasant and efficient.

We stopped by for lunch after a day trip to Poas Volcano and was very pleased with the food. My kids loved the chicken fingers and fries and I loved the casados. It was delicious! Overall the restaurant was nice and air conditioned. Clean and service although the waitress spoke in spanish. but who needs to speak english, just point to the item in the menu :)
