Chateau Bleu

This is a quirky accommodation and worth a visit. But you need to know if it is right for you. The plus points are the evening meal - don't miss it. If you are coming here you should try the basement spa experience - a wonderful romantic idea. These are the highlights and if you are coming - these are what make it special. The chateau itself is quaint and has a distinctive period feel. While it is very good, and the owners are friendly and helpful, it lacks what it takes to compare it with 5 star accommodations. What would make the difference? A pillow that was not full of lumps; hot coffee for breakfast; a clock in the bedroom; bath robes for the sauna; a fridge that worked properly and was not so noisy. That said, it compares very well with other hotels, but many B&Bs have the edge these days. We stayed in the room with the four poster bed, which is really the best room. The price for the complete package was reasonable and good value, I think.

Room Tip: Room 9 was great, though there a lot of noise - I think it was the lift.

My son and i stayed at le chateau bleu for four nights during our visit to the spa f1 grand prix, excellent location for visiting spa and liege set in a beautiful valley, service was first class and always friendly, price was reasonable, we had breakfast which was optional at only 10 euros, can't think of many things wrong, maybe they could put some tea/coffee facilty in the rooms, oh and our fridge did not work, but overall a great little place

Nowhere is 15 kilometers under Liège, in Trooz, where the family-run Château Bleu offers the charms of an 19th century castle with sufficient modern comfort. Be sure not to miss dinner at night where you might have delicious cakes baked by the owner's son for dessert ! Château Bleu is the starting point for marvellous road trips in an old-timer or a new car and the bar is the ideal place to discuss experiences afterwards !

We stayed in Trooz to be close to Liege for the Tour de France. Our hosts were very accommodating and helpful with local transport and driving us to the train station with our luggage. The food was wonderful too - be sure to have a dinner at the restaurant.
