The Chalets des Arolles are made up of several apartment blocks. We stayed in the Gemeaux block which has been rennovated within the last year. The apartment was for 2-4 people with a bedroom with bunks and a sofa bed in the sitting room. It was fine for 2 people but 4 adults would feel a bit cramped. The apartment was immaculate and modern. Bedding and tea towels are provided but you'll need to take your own towels or hire them for 8 euros for 2 towels. You can either clean the place yourself or pay the cleaner to do it for about 55 euros. Each apartment has its own ski locker. Don't expect heated boot warmers and the like, it's no frills but secure enough.
Although the Gemeaux is recently rennovated, I do not believe this to be the case with all of the other apartment blocks.
Check out is 10am and the reception will not entertain the idea of a late check out, but they have a room to keep your bags safe, so it's not a problem.
You will only have a two minute walk to and from the piste which runs straight through the village. The ski area is fantastic with runs to suit everyone. A full area pass covers unlimited trips into Les Arcs and cost us about £250 for a 6 day pass. Nothing comes cheap in La Plagne, even a tea and coffee will cost over 8 euros and a pint of beer cost about 6 euros. The only local supermarket is the spar which again is expensive so take plenty of money.
