Cutlers restaurant is within this hotel. I think it must be a well kept secret, as when we visited there was only one other couple eating. I've got to say the service and food is excellent, however the ambience and atmosphere is lacking. We arrived for our booking at 8 and were invited to sit in the bar area, where our drinks order was taken and menus received. We browsed the menu and placed our order. We received a complimentary soup, which was lovely and then invited to sit for our meal.
The waiter was extremely polite and the service was second to none. I ordered pate and my husband ordered the goats cheese, both were extremely tasty , very well presented. I ordered the beef for mains and my husband ordered the steak. Again the food was presented well and tasted absolutely delicious. It's such a shame there is no atmosphere , as the food , service , and price is amazing. If you get chance to try this restaurant , give it a go.

A second stay here and all was excellent again especially the service from the reception and bar staff. Room excellent and exceptionally clean; good breakfast; nice to have smoked haddock and poached egg as well as good sausage with the cooked breakfast. Will stay here again.

First visit to The Grange, and will not be the last. Superb in every way, quiet attentive service, superb food for all 6 of us at dinner taken in stunning Cutlers dining room. The bedroom was immaculately furnished and clean with very comfortable twin beds, current magazines, tea/coffee tray provided.
Breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious, with more attentive service.
This hotel knocks spots off any chain hotel, and shows how a good hotel should be run.
Cannot wait to return, and be spoilt again, hopefully for longer.

Had a family lunch on Sunday celebrating my 60th and husbands 60th. The food was very nicely cooked and the hosts could not do enough to make our dining experience pleasurable. The sun was shining so we took coffee and cake into the magnificent gardens. Beautiful dining room, silver service and crisp white tablecloths. Will certainly recommend it to anyone.

Wonderfully furnished hotel with lots to offer. Stayed for one night but would have been happy to have stayed longer. We stayed in the four poster room which is elegant, refreshing and homely. Didn't have an evening meal however if the breakfast was anything to go be then it would have been enjoyable.

If ever I go to Newark again I will be choosing this hotel. Couldn't fault anything.
