Preggio is an adorable little town set high in the Umbrian hills above Umbertide. It is quite small village and the locals sit in the piazza in front of two local bars. The town is pristine and perfect for taking a "passeggiata" (or stroll). La studentessa matta (me) came here to practice her Italian language conversation skills, to shop at the tiny grocery store (run by a charming man who will sell you milk and eggs to take back to your agriturismo) and to have dinner (TWICE) at la Castagna restaurant. At La Castagna the signora serves fresh home made pastas with rich sauces made from local funghi. You can sit on the back patio and enjoy a lovely view of the Umbria countryside.
