On the road down from Monodendri, we stopped for a bite of lunch. The owner is a passionate specialist in mushrooms, already widely used in the region. He serves every variety of mushroom dish you. can think of and to a very high standard for reasonable prices. The surroundings are delightful. The host is. not only an extremely good cook but very interesting to talk to (with perfect English and French). He likes to give his own twist to Greek themes, adding finely crushed walnut, for example, to his melintzani (aubergine / egg plant) salad. And his tsipouro just (a grappa) is exceptionable and memorable end to a meal.
