Extremely beautiful both cabin and area would definatly recommend . Very central to some of the most beautiful scenery. The cabin was immaculate so well equipt with everything needed for our 10 day stay would love to return
Lovely, well equipped, comfortable and spotless wee cabin. Friendly village with beautiful walks. Nice spot for fishing practically rite on doorstep and lots of other spots nearby. Great view from cabin and really reasonable price. Will definitely return.
We stayed at Loch Awe for a week, it was great, lovely cabin, beautiful views, very helpful owners, will definitely return, and would recommend
This is the perfect cabin to really get away from it all. Set on a large piece of ground, next to woodland and a only a few yards from Loch Awe, you would hardly notice there were any other cabins on the site. 'Duart' had everything we (3 adults) needed and the loch views meant that even on the rainy days, we were not bored. The electric heating meant that we were also warm and cosy so this would be a good place to stay even in the winter. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Even though the cabin was small, the high ceilings, and well laid out interior, meant that it felt very spacious. You can find most things you'll need for your stay (bread, milk, teabags, some convenience foods etc.) in the nearby 'Wild Rowan Cafe, Shop and Post Office', which we walked to and from, along the shoreside path (the start being conveniently located directly opposite 'Duart', although I would recommend bringing some groceries with you. The 'Wild Rowan' serves good quality breakfasts and lunches, as well as cakes, and it is also licensed so you can have a dram if you're not driving. There is also a social club located in the village which you can join to enjoy its facilities which includes a pub. You really can spend days in this area, so I recommend you leave your car keys in the cabin, and walk or cycle. We enjoyed local walks in spectacular forest and lochside scenery, and with almost no light pollution, star gazing on clear nights was amazing (Top tip: bring a torch to get around after dark). If you are looking for luxury, spas etc. then go somewhere else, but if you enjoy walking, fishing, nature and really just want to get away from it all, then this is the perfect cabin, in a stunning location. We'll certainly be going back to Duart.
Have to say we were a little disappointed with the location and general state of repair of the cabin. The park itself was nice enough but the 'open views' of the loch were not what was expected, with the view mostly blocked by trees and another cabin in front that did have open views.
Trying not to be too negative as we did have a good quiet break, but if we were to return would probably seek out one of the better kept cabins with a hot tub and lochsde location (albeit at greater cost )
