The island is a short ferry journey from Athens. The hotel is independently run and on the whole very comfortable and exclusive. There are only 35 suites. We stayed at a busy time but were still able to get poolside loungers. There is also a beach across the road which caters for more guests although not so comfortable and more public. The room was OK with a fairly comfortable bed. The bathroom is fairly basic with a small shower, toilet and basic toiletries. We had a few problems with the toilet flush. The staff are friendly but the service especially for coffee in the morning and drinks at lunch and evening are very slow. Hence the 4 star rating.

The Porto kea suites is located a few meters from Kea port. All suites are spacious and most of them are sea view. There is a small beach in front of the hotel but you can also enjoy the pool. The breakfast which is serve until 11.00 is delicious. The service of the hotel is average for a 5 stars hotel.

We stayed at this lovely hotel for a week while attending Kea Artisanal Cooking School. We were welcomed warmly and the level of service was outstanding. Rooms overlook the pool and sea. Breakfast every day was varied and plentiful. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

I have to say, we had an amazing week in Kea generally and we were provided a good sanctuary to come back to. They do really take care of you including transfers all the way from Athens to the hotel.

TRANSFERS: Very smooth, as soon as we came out, I saw my name and we were collected and given tickets to the Ferry. The guys who picked us up were great people an the ferry is about an hour's ride.
TIP: Be warned the the Ferry isn't frequent so I would check with the hotel when the Ferry is and book flights accordingly otherwise you'll have long waits. 4 hours upon arrival and then 6 hours on the way back. The way back you can spend it Athens but the way there ...you just want to go to the hotel.

WELCOME: They put on a really nice welcome when you arrive with drinks and snacks and really was you in after a long journey.

SERVICE: This is the biggest positive of the place. Staff are really amazing! Great service all the way through. So friendly and attentive. Sometimes though, probably a bit too much as we did get knocks on the door quite often when we were in the room but form the to Marias at reception (who we want to give special recognition too), to the cleaners, always on top of things.

ROOM/SUITE: We had a sea-view suite which I believe is a junior suite was well decorated and was very cosy and welcoming. All very clean and tidy, view is lovely and has a nice balcony to enjoy it. We were in a nice apartment away from the main hotel area so it was a nice quiet place to go back to. Though, it isn't that sound-proofed as mentioned as we could hear next door and downstairs but nonetheless its still fairly quiet. One thing that was missing is a 'Do Not Disturb' sign of some sort as there are people knocking on the door throughout the day.

LOCATION: Perfect location as Korissia is the main port but you are on the authorised of it. Its a quiet island so there isn't too much happening but there are some shops and Vourkari is not that far either. Its on a beach (separated by a road) but the beach isn't that great but nice to have a walk there in the evening. There is a small one up the road which is better. The main city (Illouis) is also not too far away either (€8 taxi).

POOL/SPA: The pool is not heated but fine, and nice place to relax too. The jacuzzi is very small though and not so inviting. As its next to the pool, in the open, you can't really go in there during the day. The Spa looks very new but it is quite small. All quite nicely done and worth using but nothing spectacular about it.

FOOD: The food was ok but great. The first day was the best but then it subsided after that. My partner eats fish but I'm vegetarian. There are vegetarians options but its all hit an miss. Vegetarian options in general are scarce in Kea in general but I did start finding my way a little. The food doesn't seem to be so fresh and sometimes over cooked. Next day we'd always feel very heavy. Breakfast was ok though, quite the usual things. They do make you things if requested as well. I would say the food is probably what can improve for a place like this.

OVERALL: I would stay here again. Not sure I would pay the full price as we managed to get a deal but its very comfortable and clean. Location and service really makes this place.

We are nearing the end of our week here and it's an amazing place to come. Outdoor pool, sea view jacuzzi, spa, great food, excellent quality and range of Greek wines. A fabulous small hotel and a deserving member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World The staff are great & attentive, the food is excellent - with a great deal of variety provided. The outdoor pool & seating area is larger than you'd expect with ample loungers and soft seats. The best nearby beach is Gialiskari, which is a 15 min walk & has a nice beach hut for food, drinks & toilet facilities. My brother and I also had spa treatments Loved it & would recommend without reservation.

Room tip: They are all excellent - most have a sea view. We stayed in Room 29
