Galilee Bedouin Camplodge
Reviewed June 12, 2013

Had a fantastic time with Izhar and his family staying up at the Galilee Bedouin Camplodge. The atmosphere is beautiful, the views are stunning, and there is such a sense of peace. In many ways felt like staying with old friends, whilst still having space for relaxation, refreshment and discovering true Israel away from the city and tourist attractions.

If you like city bustle, lots of people and being surrounded by shops and attractions, this would not be the best place to stay. If you are after serenity, nature and meeting local people I couldn't recommend it more highly. The accommodation and facilities are all that you would want, there are beautiful places to sit and relax, and your hosts are incredibly generous in helping provide all you need at a price you wouldn't beat anywhere else. I definitely hope to return one day, more as going back to friends than going back to a hostel.

We spent one night in the communal tent at the beginning of April. We had the whole tent to ourselves :). The tent and the bathroom were very clean, the kitchen has all what you need to cook you own meals. Outside the tent there is a very cozy place to sit or have your meals.
It's a very peaceful place at the edge of a Bedouin village where you can experience real rural village life. Yizhar and Irit are the perfect hosts, making you feel at home and have many interesting stories to tell their guests.

Favorite place we stayed in Israel because of its incredible atmosphere although it had been a bit difficult for us to access. On our departure the following morning we realized there were plenty of Hebrew language signs: we just didn’t know they had belonged to the Galilee Bedouin Camplodge. We got lost a couple of times trying to find it but the helpful and friendly owner guided us using our cell.
If you like comfortable camping you will most likely enjoyed it here. The accommodation is in a large communal tent, plentiful mattress, blankets and pillows. We had the whole tent for the two of us. Plan ahead and take some prepared food with you or cook on the bbq. There’s also a fridge for storing food. Nice clean bathroom just around the corner in a separate building. Nice place to take pictures of the sunset. Exceptional courteous owners run the business with a meticulous eye.

We stayed at the Galilee Bedouin Camplodge for two nights this fall. It lies in a small bedouin village around 40 minutes away from Haifa. Finding it is a little bit tricky but the maps on their homepage help (little hint: Navigate to "Hilf Tabash" with your GPS device and then turn left immediately after the last bus station and then turn the next street right and follow it to the very end). The owner is always available via phone and will guide you there in case of trouble.

If you take the private room, you'll sleep in a renovated train car which has a bed for 2 people and matresses in case more people sleep there. It is equipeed with a small kitchenette, power sockets and an refrigerator. Toilets and showers with warm water are in a small house outside. It was a very special and unique experience! It is very quiet at night and you can sit outside in the garden and watch the stars. The owners are great and will help you planning your trip in the north. Also, their labneh is absolutely gorgeous! All in all, highly recommended, a very personal and memorable stay!

Was traveling through Israel this summer and made a two night stop at the Galilee Bedouin Camp Lodge. The highlight of this place is the owner, who was incredibly friendly and helpful with things such like driving me into town a few times to buy things, lending me his hat for a hike and stopping over at the tent now and again to share some coffee and have a conversation.

Apart from all that, the scenery is beautiful. Such an amazing part of the country. The tent was clean and gorgeous and had running water and electricity and the private cabin (I took a peek inside) was beautiful, made from a mandate-era train car.

A great place to rest, recharge, hike, stargaze and meet other travelers. Don't miss it. I rated excellent for "swimming pool" because you can hike (not too far, about 45 minutes) to the most refreshing clear spring I've ever swam in.

After some difficulty finding the Bedouin lodge, we arrived late in the afternoon. It might have been the hottest day of the year. So it seemed to us. But what do we know, we are from Holland.
A family of four, 2 male 2 female. We were received with open arms and a warm welcome. Everything was explained and our host invited us to take a trip with him, to the well or spring of the village stream the next morning.
As Tyrone writes you can sleep any way you want, just put your mattress where you would like it. Sleeping with four is no problem, as is sleeping with your friends or sports group/team. If you want to cook for just a few or for a lot there is equipment in all sizes.
Rest and nature for parents, wifi and music for the teenagers.
It was a perfect stay, and we will come back one day!

The Galilee Bedouin lodge is by far the friendliest hostel in Israel. Apart from the extremely clean facilities with running hot and cold water 24/7 the Gurion family are selfless and always willing to help.

The accomodation is the most amazing part of this hostel, an awsome elongated tent with satin white drapes hanging from the roof gives an amazing feel to your room. It is also the only hostel that allows you to arrange the way you sleep. Mattrasses and pillows are provide and if you so choose you can mix and match until you are satissfied. The kitchen is fully equiped with anything and everything needed to be self sufficient. The bathrooms are completely spotless and spacious.

Situated 30 min from Nazareth and/or Haifa by bus its extremely convenient to get around, the bus stop is a 3min walk from where you stay.

For those of you who really want to experience the real Israeli way, Galilee bedouin lodge is highly recommended,

Happy travelling!
