We chose Raffles for 3 nights of luxury after a week on Mahe (not that we were roughing it there either - staying at Constance!). Praslin is MUCH smaller and less developed. We hired a car for a day, not because we wanted to drive around too much - but because hiring a car costs the same as the taxi to/from the airport..... as we wanted to visit the famous beach at Anse Lazio as well, it made sense to drive ourselves and save money (about 40 Euros for a day). Raffles is on the north east coast and Anse Lazio is a little further along (stunning beach obviously but not much else there), we stayed a while, took some photos and headed back to Raffles - which itself has a great beach. The highlight at Raffles for us was the villa. We were upgraded to a Panoramic Villa (having paid for a Hill Villa) - I think almost all the villas are identical inside - the price difference essentially being the position on the hill and respective view that you get. (There are a couple of family villas which are the exception). The layout and amenities are top notch as you would expect. Fantastic huge, comfy bed, raised to appreciate the view from big glass doors that open out onto a huge balcony/terrace. Plunge pool and lovely lounge area outside with big sofas and lots of cushions. The bathroom is superb with big walk in showers inside and outside and views from the bathtub. The views are fabulous too. All amenities are top quality, including the Nespresso coffee machine which we love. The resort is spread over the hillside and golf buggy's take you everywhere you want to go. The service is simply wonderful throughout - our butler was excellent and the villa was meticulously cleaned twice a day and as soon as we left it. Communal areas, food and the pool were also great. Overall it's an expensive resort BUT you don't feel trapped like some of the Maldives Resorts - where you have no choice but to pay ridiculous prices. Here food and drinks are expensive but not ridiculous and there are also cheaper options available. (If you really want you can eat elsewhere and buy drinks at the local supermarket - though it does defeat the point of staying somewhere this nice!) We stayed at the Kempinski & Constance on Mahe prior to Raffles and you pay for what you get - the service is just a different level. Overall highly recommended for a bit of pampering!!

We had lunch in the Curieuse Restaurant and it was really good. There is a special kid menu, and not very expensive. Fresh Juice and the cocktails are really great.

The staff are very friendly, and attentive. The Singapore sling is the best.

Would definitely go again.

LOCATION & ATTRACTIONS NEARBY *** Raffles Praslin Seychelles Resort is located in the northern east part of Praslin. It took us approx. 25-30 min. to drive from the airport. Near Raffles there is a small beach, adorable, but just a few people could be busy… But no worries at all, within few hundreds meters you have Anse Boundin and few kilometres away the most amazing beach I've ever seen - Anse Lazio. Within the resort there are approx. 80 villas and from there you can enjoy this amazing surroundings.

HOTEL OVERVIEW *** This is the finest hotel in Praslin and definitely worth visiting for few days. Entire hill is covered with these lovely villas and we were happy to be in one of them. Hotel as well provides secured car park, restaurants, bars, gift shop and spa.

PURPOSE OF THIS TRIP *** Leisure

RESERVATION *** Over the phone - easy and not complicated. Confirmation emailed to me within seconds.

CHECK-IN *** Quick, efficient, elegant. We were welcomed by one of the managers Tomas and he was kind enough to give as an overview of the entire property and in meantime reception staff did the paper work. After that we were taken to our villa #132 by our butler, Luc - the loveliest person ever. I have to mention that I loved the way he welcomed us there, such an efficient, professional, but at the same very casual way. I really felt very welcomed there. The same way he presented us our villa. Thank you Luc.

LOBBY & RECEPTION *** When you arrive by car you'd be welcomed by the staff in the lounge. Reception is a little bit further down, in an open space (which could be quickly closed in case of rain).

ROOM/VILLA *** I was really amazed with this villa! I asked Luc, is this all for us! This was enormous! Elegant, modern and extremely spacious. Hm… We had sitting room, dining space, master bedroom, large bathroom with separate toilet and walk-in shower. There was also additional toilet, kitchenette, room-size wardrobe. On top of that there was outdoor shower, terrace with patio and corner sofa and of course - serenity pool. I absolutely loved that! Even if weather didn't look like holiday dream (it was raining all afternoon when we arrived) I so enjoyed our stay in the villa. We experienced some issues with the air-condition, but it was quickly fixed. I will not mention the equipment, because there was everything... Even in the kitchenette you had this fancy coffee machine. I really liked on the 2nd day that all coffee cartridges were replenished only for this type we used (so we like them). Small touch, but nice. Selection in the mini-bar was good and prices very acceptable. They even provide umbrellas for you if you need it and of course to travel between villas, restaurants and car park you can order golf buggy. That work very well.

BATHROOM *** I mentioned already that bathroom was enormous. Large bathtub with a view, luxury toiletries and fluffy toiletries provided.

BREAKFAST *** Buffet breakfast is served in one of the restaurants. There was quite good selection, but I would appreciate a little bit of "local touch".

RESTAURANTS *** Hm… I would say there is still a bit space for improvement there. We went there for a lunch once and one dinner. Some meals were absolutely stunning (curry), some just average. The same with bar and drinks - some great, some just so so (never ever add black mint leaves to mojito, please).

ROOM SERVICE *** On the first day we have ordered some meals. Mine burger looked great and tasted even better. Smoked red snapper wrap was also very tasty. It was delivered quite quick (despite crazy heavy rain, so sorry for the staff).

INTERNET ACCESS *** Complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access was available.

CHECK-OUT EXPERIENCE *** As expected, quick, efficient and very well organised. As we were heading to the airport in this heavy rain we didn't have chance to speak to many people, but General Manager, Mr Simon Hirst was able to find us and check with us our experience. It was really nice touch. Thank you & see you soon in Praslin!

STAFF *** Once again - I need to praise Luc, our butler. Amazing guy and I have seen already other people mentioning him in their reviews. Keep it this way, Luc! THANK YOU!. Tomas & Tetyana - thank you for your hospitality and few nice conversations. All pool area (bar) staff was really good, very attentive and they made us feel welcomed and good. Thank you all reception staff for your patience - they sort out my Raffles Gift Card requests (it was bit stressful, but they delivered).

OVERVIEW *** Great hotel, amazing location, more than perfect villas! It is strong 5 and definitely I would love to go back! I have just to kind of 'less positive' comment (area to improve) - Raffles Gift Cards - I think after my stay everybody will know how to use them without any issues. Overall, I enjoyed my time there and pity that was only for 2 days! Next time I will try to visit you for few more days to have enough time to appreciate this fantastic property and truly paradise surroundings. Be sure that your visit is longer than mine - it is definitely worth it. Raffles Praslin Seychelles Resort - THANK YOU and hopefully see you soon!!! Pictures from my amazing 2 days attached - enjoy!

Stayed in Raffles in praslin for 7 nights. The hotel setting is fantastic it is nestled into the rockface and every room is absolutely fantastic. large bedrooms and bathrooms with an outside shower as well as an inside one. A fabulous plunge pool and a lovely view to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening after a hard days sunbathing! the staff are all really lovely and friendly and always willing to help with anything. Even the General Manager shows his face daily! The cocktails they make are fantastic (try the coco mojito)! My only comment regarding the hotel is that the menus let the hotel down slightly and there is confusion in the evening as they tend to hold special evenings and then their staff run around like headless chickens for the evening For example their cocktail manager was running from one bar to another to find coconut and on another occasion running to get more lemons! Another incident was that most tables had candle light however 2 tables didnt and the clients had to ask for them to be put on the table. Another guest had to get up and pour his own wine (2 occasions this happened in one night). The breakfast ran as smooth as clockwork but this is because it is in the same place daily and the staff know exactly where everything is. Having said this dont let my comments put you off because we commented to the management on a couple of things and he was pleased to have constructive feedback and its my bet that the restaurant situation will change too in due course. I would certainly go back there again and hope these small things will have changed.
There are a couple of lovely restaurants to go to whilst staying there. First of all there is PKs@ Pasquire Restaurant which is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The final part of the walk is steep but the hotel have hotel cars in use so might be worth using this facility if you dont like steep hills. The food is amazing very fresh and extremely well presented. We were hooked on the grilled king prawns and the grilled fish. Wonderful place to have a healthy lunch. Phil the owner will also cook anything to order too if you ask him. The views from his restaurant are wonderful looks right out over the bay to the other islands. The other restaurant is Cafe De Art which is a lovely fine dining restaurant lovely ambience in the evening with a band playing in the background set right on the beach. Food was wonderful. For days out do visit the tortoises there are over 100 or more there and some are over 150 years old. Go on a boat trip to see them and also visit Vallee De Mai and Curieuse Island. Take mosi cream though as its like walking in a jungle! The final paart is snorkelling off one of the smaller islands. It was a fantastic day out. Also go by hotel car to one of the top beaches in the world Anso Lazio and spend the day sunbathing and swimming and then get the hotel to pick you up at 5.30 and take you to the top of Zimbabe which is the highest point in Praslin and watch the sunset its amazing. All in all a fabulous holiday.

Room Tip: Go for the rooms high up as they have fabulous views. Hilltop Suites they are called.

We stayed at raffles praslin for 7 days. We had an oceanview room. The service was excellent. They assign to your room two butlers during your stay. Luc was particularly attentive to our special requests ( car, restaurants, sailing, etc...). The food was exquisite. The seafood platter is a must and the wagyu burger to die for. The breakfast is also worth mentioning.

The villas are exceptionnal. The overall experience was just amaizing. The general manager even takes the time to meet you during your stay.

All in all, the property is extremely well managed... Congratulations to the management team.

Room Tip: Rent a car and go to Anse Lazio and Cote d'or during your stay

Absolutely amazing! stayed here for 4 nights for our honeymoon, we had the best time ever.
The staff is absolutely incredible. You basically don't have to do anything! they are always there for you without being too pushy. Our private butler Ashok was just incredible, just a call away and he would bring you what you wanted or give you some tips on activities or places to go.

The pool is amazing with nice drinks and snacks, the beach is also incredible with kayaks and snorkeling gear available. I do recommend to go to Curieuse island by kayak to go and see the turtles! complimentary water with ice cubes are given at the pool and beach.

The villa is just amazing, we had an ocean vue villa on top of the hilll, there are always buggy's available to bring you up and down the resort. the Villa is imaculate, the hotel is only 2-3 years old so not too weary! very modern and clean.

The 2 restaurants were delicious but quite pricy, which is normal for the Seychelles, I would say just enjoy and don't try to look too much at the prices as in all other hotels it is quite expensive!!!
we will definately come back to the Raffles! what an experience!!!

Room Tip: the higher the villa the better the view!!

We recently spent five nights of our honeymoon at this incredible resort. It is only a few years old, so everything is top of the line. We stayed in Villa 174 which was the second highest on the hillside. This was great because it provided us with a bit of extra privacy than the lower villas. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and will do whatever it takes to make sure that you enjoy yourself. Our butler, Manoj, was fantastic and was always on top of what we had planned. The other butlers were also extremely helpful and friendly too when Manoj was on his day off.

My recommendation is to look past the prices and just enjoy yourself. We also stayed at another five star resort on Mahe on the same trip and the prices were just as high if not higher.

If you are going to the Seychelles, Raffles is definitely the best resort on Praslin and one of the best resorts in the inner islands.

Thanks to Simon and his team for such a wonderful trip.

Room Tip: Stay in the higher villas for better views and mor privacy.
