“Best snorkel spot on the North Shore”
Review of Sharks Cove

This is easily the best spot to snorkel on the North shore. The wave action is small within the cove. There are lots of rocks around to provide fish hiding spots so there are lots of fish in the cove. Water shoes are an absolute requirement (there are too many sharp lava rocks around to go without)! There is lots of street parking on the cliff above the beach, but come early for easier parking. If you're not into snorkeling, the water is clear enough one can still find lots of fish in the tide pools provided there aren't kids splashing nearby.

We came here right after Sunset Beach so we didn't get into the water. It was nice to walk along the tide pools. I saw many people snorkeling. Parking, shower and restrooms available. Can get crowded.

We drove up to the area in search of a snorkeling spot. What a great place. Wear swim shoes and not fins. Tons of sharp rocks. The water was clear, the current light, and the fish were everywhere. It's not very deep so you can see it all even if you are new to snorkeling. There is an outfitter across the street where you can rent all the gear you need.

There are showers and restrooms at the park. There are food trucks just across the street. After snorkeling we stayed for the sunset and were just amazed by it.

Lovely snorkeling spot. Beach bathroom and shower. Friendly rental shop across the street. $20 snorkel and fin rental. Rocky entrance to snorkel, take your time. Several food truck lunch options. Local chickens are aggressive and may try to steal your food from table. Be patient for parking.

Have been snorkeling three days in Sharks Cove in the past week. Great location to see larger schools of fish and interesting topology along the bottom. This afternoon a rather large Black Tip Reef Shark swam close to my wife and I. Definitely got the adrenaline going but was also really cool! Our friends saw two turtles today. This along with Waimea Bay are great snorkel locations on North Shore.
