Took my dear Dutch friends for a quick lunch, the kids had fun swimming, we had a simple lovely lunch, try the spanish sea urchin, even if out of a tin, for four. The place is like a shack, wonderful view, very informal for lunch. During the weekend not easy to find a parking space during high season.

Fabulous setting, sunset and the aqua blue water is amazing and romantic, the food is outrageously good, yes the place looks like a tequila/beer shack in Mexico, but the overall setting and class of food is simply the best..... bit difficult to find but very much worth the effort, we were a large party on June 10, and many first timers in our group, everyone was blown away. First we have to say that this is not a restaurant-as the name says after all. It's a like a beach bar. But a really ugly one, it seems that they set it on the beach the night before. The food was OK but nothing special. The prices were too high for this kind of "beach bar".

The people who own this place should understand that you cannot put prices of a luxurious restaurant for mediocre food served to a rotten wood beach bar, just because you offer a great view by the sea.

At night the place is simply enchanting, but this is the only thing you’ll get at Clandestino..

We asked for two glasses of wine. Mine was clearly passed, while my partner’s one was ridiculously ultra-aromatic.
Both wines were served in two glasses you could have in your kitchen at home, and completely ‘naked’, i.e. with nothing else to eat on the side and no towel on the table or even a couple of napkins…
Service was awful (the waiter was extremely rude), as it was the overall atmosphere, with people in the tables around us talking very loud all the time (something you really don’t expect from this kind of bars).
After a while we decided to leave and when I paid (€ 13) I even had to ask for the receipt! Unbelievable…

We expected much more courtesy and professionalism, since the place belongs to a famous chef (Moreno Cedroni).

In conclusion, it seemed to me a fake posh bar on the beach where they serve canned sushi prepared elsewhere pretending to be ‘cool’…
My advice: avoid wasting time and money. Have you dinner somewhere in the countryside and then take your lady down to Portonovo for a walk. But please bring yourself a bottle and drink it on the rocks with your partner, possibly far from Clandestino…

For hardcore food and wine enthusiasts, Clandestino's creative take on sushi must be experienced, and its beach setting is beyond chic. Loved it here! About 350 euros for a multi-course dinner for 3 ladies with wine, but worth every cent. One of top 3 restaurants in the Marche region, part of Michelin 2-star Chef Moreno Cedroni's empire.
