A lovely 17th century Inn. Lovely accommodation. Nice log fire. Lovely beers. Fabulous food. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of friendly locals with open smiles. Couldn't ask for more.

Stopped here for Sunday lunch on the way back from Edinburgh, after having stopped a couple of times over the years. Greeted by a roaring log fire on a cold wet day was a good start! Two of us had the roast, but there was quite a varied menu to choose from including light lunches, and prices averaged £10 for a main course. All of us enjoyed our freshly cooked meals, especially the hand cut chips, and if we'd realised they open for breakfast at 8am we'd have popped in on the way up aswell. All in all very happy with our visit and will doubtless be dropping in again next time we go to Scotland....so much nicer than the service stations! I have rated the rooms 3 since we didn't actually stay in them.
