Description: The Purangi Winery was established in 1985 the 37th Winery in New Zealand. The Evans Family who moved from Hong Kong were welcomed as settlers by the district in 1966. After buying land from the Harsant and Wigmore Families and opening and operating the Hahei store and later in 1972 the 60 acres where the winery is located was farmed running pigs, cows, sheep and goats, then planted supplying the Auction Markets with table grapes, kiwifruit, garlic and fresh produce. When the land was cleared originally organic principles were adopted. Our products are made in the traditional manner with purest ingredients hence the company name Purangi Estate Ltd or "PurEst". In 2009 we built a wood fired pizza oven and launched the Purangi Winery Pizzeria which has been more and more popular. We produce many of the ingredients for the pizzas, making the pesto and pizza sauce and using a wide range of fresh herbs and vegetables from our garden. We try to keep it simple and have something for everyone. We customize our pizzas so that YOU want to eat it. + Gluten free and Vegan options available. + Fresh seasonal additions on our specials board Our bar in the Coromandel invites you to enjoy all our homemade products: Cider, Wines, Long Drinks and (in winter) Mulled Wine as well as a wide range of national and international beers. Relax in our family friendly environment under the kiwifruit vines, enjoy the sun in summer, sit next to our brazier in winter or find a cosy place inside close to our potbelly stove. + Table Tennis, Table Soccer, Darts, Petonque, Kubb (Viking chess).

My friends and I can't say enough great things about this place! Everything they have is wonderful! We went back two nights in a row we loved it so much! You can't beat a fresh brick oven pizza with herbs from their garden. The wedges are the best I had in NZ. All of the liqueurs and wines are great! I would recommend the sav blanc. Danny did a tasting with us and really explained everything. This is one of the best tastings I have ever had. The figeoua liqueur is unique and delicious. We bought some to take with us. Danny is amazing! His positive energy is contagious and he treats everyone like an old friend. He even let us borrow his shovel to go to hot water beach! We can't thank him enough for everything! We would love to go back again and again!

Our rained out sailing trip became an indoor adventure at the Purangi WInery. Daniel entertained us from the moment we walked through the door. His personality, wit and customer service talents soon had our sailing blues washed away. We learned many uses for Nz's Feijoa fruit. My, but they are tasty! We had so much fun with Daniel that we moved into the eatery for some delicious stone cooked pizza, a few more drinks and several rounds of table tennis.
Thanks for the fun guys. We will definitely be back!
