Description: Go Vino has taken the Spanish concept of tapas and evolved it for a New Zealand environment. Go Vino's shared plates (Kaizen dishes) are bigger and more complex than traditional tapas. The dishes also feature ingredients and flavours distinct to New Zealand. Drawing on quality seasonal produce Chef Gabriel Moraes creates a Kaizen menu which changes every few months. Perfectly designed dishes can be enjoyed as a snack or as a complete meal over the course of an evening. Please be aware that we are not located directly in Whitianga, but in Cooks Beach, a short ferry ride and taxi away.

Excellent dinner for our party of 4, the Kaizen system is a brilliant way of ensuring you have a taste of everything. And thanks to Alice for her professional service.

The food was excellent, the wine also and the service was very good, friendly and efficient. I think the outdoor area is very good and certainly family friendly with the great games. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived and we were very lucky to have got a table just made vacant.. We did not book and we were "told off" in a firm but pleasant manner. It's not the first time we have turned up without a booking so we know the "rules" as do all locals. It's a very popular place so take the time to reserve a table, it's worth it. Highly recommended.

Delighted to find this for NYE this year. We took a relaxed table in the garden and ordered lots of delicious things to share. Wish we could have had a pop at the nitro'd deconstructed cocktails but I was driving a camper van. Great place x

A couple of friends and I passed through Cook's Beach for a few nights and were quite glad to have eaten at Go Vino. Though mostly an omnivore's menu, the tofu souffle was absolutely amazing! My recommended approach: Sample as much as possible by grabbing a handful of friends, book a reservation (intimate operation means reservations allow for the owner to plan supplies, tables, and staffing accordingly), and show your tastebuds how much you love them. Blocks from the sands of Mercury Bay/Cook's Beach, it's a beautiful spot to stop by on your way down the coast.
