The ok looking rooms are dirty, they never clean more than a quick wipe around, do not look under the bed!! The staff is unprofessional, but that seems to be normal in Trinidad, they are very unfriendly and lazy. If you get food from one of the two restaurants you are lucky becouse normally they don't have what you order or the cook is gone somewhere or they are about to close... So much for being lucky becouse the food is terrible and you will probably get sick of it and you will get overcharged normally.
The beach in the back of the hotel is full of litter from the hotel. The bar has music all day untill late night, so loud you cannot have a conversation in the bar and forget about sleaping. The expensive laundry service will deliver half of your clothes to another room.
This hotel is so bad it is almost funny!

this place is the worst i ever been in my whole life, i have been to hilton, hyatt, crown plaza, marriotts hotel, and many more and never got treated this way, them cant tell me about hositality, i will never recommend this place to anyone. P.S. mr/mrs manager u need better workers with a smile and workers who have respect for other people and there feelings. my fiance and I felt not wanted in your facility, We felt like we were watched all the time. A business is about hospitality and respect not treated like criminals.

Room Tip: air condition, quiet in the night, and private

My fiance and I took a day pass at this hotel. We called the night before the receptionist told us politely it would be $100 from 8 to 8.The next day we reached a receptionist told us it is $150 from 6 to 5.I mean be professional with your information. The place is really nice and classy Idont know about the rooms. The service must be ciassy as well. How wrong I was! we were new to the place, she quickly took our money and rattled off about we can use the outdoor pool and other facilities.I was surprised at the scant curtesy. It was like our every move was followed why? To make sure we didnt bring food from the outside.Only the restrooms were marked no private change rooms for the classy visitors of this ciassy hotel. If we did anything out of sorts we were heavily chided by some unmarked sweating guy or some hotel personality ,they did not identify their authority. Very rude and hostile! example Ikindly asked for a ladies changing room the sweating guy roughly told me a place which is open for the world to see probably feeling sorry for me an older security man took me and my fiance to a place with a door. But it was marked for employees .I asked if he was sure he said yes. so i mistakenly thought he probably knows what he is doing.I went in and proceeded to change my clothes.I heard my fiance voice outside.changing quickly I went to see what the commotion was
he told me some lady came no name tag again and only after she was asked said she was
`the manager`told him we had no business being there. When my fiance explained wewere sent here she snarled in a menacing tone `WELL I SAID YOU CAN`T USE HERE!`Ifelt like a little child in school. Is this what HOTEL HOSPITALITY is about? CEO and owner of this hotel train your staff about hospitality a hotel is not just about pools and views. As for me and my fiance we won`t be going back there to that hostile environment.

I stayed with a friend who works in the Tourism Industry and myself a former General Manager of a 22 room hotel, and Operations Manager of 2 other hotels. She recommended the place for an overnight to attend the "Potspoon Throwdown, hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Tourism Development at Mayaro.

Upon checking in, the cost of the room $1,035.00 TTD per night is apalling to local residents, the overall presentation of the property is good, however the delivery of their product is terrible.

My friend and I sat in the little porch area just outside the room chatting, later on in the evening my childen came to visit, as they were attending a party not too far from the hotel, they came and sat with us, we patronised the restaurant (we were told the restaurant was closing, so we had to order quickly, and we could not sit in the restaurant, we sat on benches in front of our room) when the children (ages 29,26 & 21) arrived and sat with us, the food bill being $935.00 TTD & a bottle of Hennessy $475.00 TTD.
We were told to hurry up and place our order, as the kitchen was closing up (this was about 9.45pm) the food was put in take away containers, we paid a service charge of 10% in addition to the bill and 15% Value Added Tax (VAT) and we were not given any food service (plastic disposable containers)
All the food was very tasteless, I was served 4 small pieces (apporox 3 inches long) of ribs with no sides ( i should have gotten 2 sides with my order) in a take away container for $150.00 + vat & s/charge? Total restaurant bill $1,500.00, plus room of $1,035.00

My children took a walk to look at the property, and they came back and sat with us, the lady at the front desk found it necessary to come and call out my friend to tell her the room only sleeps 2. My friend told her " we know that, they are not staying/sleeping, we are just liming, no one was in the room, we were all out in the patio area. This was about 9.30pm.
Every now and again our visitors left and went back into the party that was going on on the beach, and then come back, hang with us a little while, then go again.

At about 2.00am, Ms. Ronell Bishop, (this was the person who came earlier to tell us the room only sleeps 2, which we were fully aware of, and our visitors, (my grown children) were not staying) walked up to my eldest daughter and told them that the hotel is closing and they need to leave right now! My daughter told her, "can't you give me a few minutes", as she was eating, Ms. Bishop told her "NO" "hold the chicken in your hand and go, because we closing up right now"
My daughter asked her if she can possibly have a paper towel to put the chicken in, she said they did not have any, she then walked off, came back with a roll of paper towels, told my daughter to take a sheet and MAKE SURE TO GIVE ME BACK THE PAPER TOWELS?????

At this point my younger daughter said "lets go" my elder daughter threw her food in the garbage, her fiance, my Son and my younger daughter then left, they were so upset and my daughter felt so embarrassed that they got into their vehicle and went home, (which is in the North of Trinidad, we are all from North/West Trinidad).

* I felt sick at the taught of being treated this way, I could not wait till noon to check out.

* There were 2 pools, the indoor closes at 6.00pm the outdoor at 8.00 pm, (we were told you have pay $150.00 TTD to use the outdoor pool?) and you are a guest of the hotel?

* The next morning going for breakfast was another scenario, the server asked for a breakfast chit, - no idea of what she was talking about, as none were given to us upon check inn.

The coffee was cold, the bacon was cold and tough as leather, the pancakes were cold, there was no fruits, some persons had fruit cups, the server told me "all the fruit cups finish" I got cutlery to use with a cloth napkin, my friend did not get cutlery.

Finally, the property looks nice, you can see that a pretty penny was spent to upgrade or refurbish, there was a pair of slippers left by a guest under the bed, it had to be there for a long time, because of the cobwebs and dust surrounding it. There was only 1 flat sheet, that was on the bed, separating the spread from the guest, therefore the customer will lay on the fitted sheet. I have to add, that the flat sheet had a very large hole in it, the pillowcases were very creased, as though it came out from under a ball of laundry.
There is a coffee maker, without a packet of coffee, creamer or sugar/sweetner (the same coffee service available at the reception area should be available in the room, or move the coffee maker out of the room completely!

1. If there is a policy as it relates to guests having visitors, and that those visitors need to leave at a particular time, it needs to be advertised.

2. If your hotel closes its gates at a particular hour, this also should be advertised, but this is very strange, isn't hotels a 24 hour 7 days a week business?

I certainly will not recommend this place to anyone!

so my family and I were just wrapping up a day at the beach down Mayaro side when we all got so very hungry (the normal effect of the wonderful sea breeze down there).

I decided to pass by Queens Beach Hotel cause I remembered that I had lunch there a long time ago and the food was excellent. The only thing that turned me off at the time was that they didn't have a full dedicated menu.

So to my great surprise upon entering Queens Beach I was totally amazed as to how beautiful they transformed the place. The entire property had a complete overhaul and the place actually looked like a full fledged resort now.

I went in and asked one of the front desk ladies if i cud have a view of the room and I was blown away as to how elegant and classy the place was now!! a far cry from the old Queens beach. Upon enquiring about the rates i was informed that it was like TTD$1150 per night. I guess given the recent expansion and new look of the place that price might be justified, but i found the room a bit too small for that kind of price and they cater for couples only now.....so i wud not be able to tag the kids along if i were staying here.

The hotel now offers two swimming pools.....an out door and an indoor pool. In the shade of the indoor pool area is this really nice hot tub/ jaccuzi that looked very enticing. There is a formal restaurant and an out door one close to the beach which has sandwiches etc.

My family and I decided to try the newly renovated restaurant now. Again i was surprised to see that they now have a full dedicated menu with seriously good food. Our server's name was Angela and she was very polite and helpful. Eating out with three kids can be a bit of a challenge sometimes and she really help us out with extra cutlery etc. She was very helpful also in recommending stuff for the kids and she seemed very knowledgeable of the menu and the portion sizes. That helped a lot.

We started off with the shrimp cocktail and it was very delicious. They made sure and really piled on the shrimp and it was served with this really tasty garlic sauce. For the main course the kids had chicken nuggets and fries....the only thing though that the nuggets were so tasty i decided to order some more but because of the time of the evening that was the last portion available. That may be a bit in poor taste but given that there was only one cook in the kitchen, which is also close to the dining area, so you see ur food being prepared, I didn't decide to make a big fuss of it. My wife had the herbed shrimp with wedged fries and steamed veges and i had a Rib Eye steak with a caribbean rice and steamed veges. The food was very tasty. the only thing about my steak is that I ordered it medium-well and it came medium-well for half the steak and well-done on the other half lol. My only take on this is that the fire on the grill must have been uneven....but again....because of the really nice ambiance and excellent service from Angela I didn't decide to make a fuss. The steak was very delicious too i must admit. The price of the food is also very good.

Because of the heavy dinner we all decided to skip dessert so i can't comment on that. All in all i am very impressed at the new Queens Beach Hotel and I would highly recommend this place to local and foreign couples if you want a really nice place for a getaway.

Room Tip: I noticed that the upper level rooms had a good view of the sea and the little balcony outside would...
