Stayed here for a lovely wedding which all went very well and was extremely enjoyable.

We were in a large double room (343) with an extra bed for our four year old and plenty of room to set up our travel cot for our 19 month old. The room itself was very clean and comfortable, however despite it being a cold February day with the heating turned down it was still stifling and we had to open all the windows to get the temperature to a reasonable level.

Lots of choice for breakfast, but the quality was average, we were brought a rack of burnt toast, the coffee was bitter and the highchair we were given was filthy (I had to get out baby wipes to clean it myself). It is small things like this that make all the difference and suggest a lack of care from the staff. Staff were very eager to clear things from our table but not to ask if everything was OK or if anything else was needed.

The hotel itself is set in beautiful grounds and is extremely impressive (also has a spa which we did not have chance to try out). It just needs to make some small improvements so that everything else about it befits the setting!

Check in good, helpful and friendly receptionist.
Room was fine, good space, working area, chair and table etc.
Comfortable bed. Good en-suite.

Wasnt overly impressed to find a pair of someone elses socks behind the chair though! - not thoroughly cleaned clearly!

Checkout was also fine.
Didnt eat at the hotel.

Have used this hotel a few times now as I always try to use BW hotels to collect the reward points. The hotel itself is a very impressive manor house set in its own grounds in a VERY wealthy part of the area - we're talking 7 figure houses all around. Got upgraded to a deluxe double room (340) which was a really nice room but careful if youre not fit as its up a fair few flights of steep stairs. Room was spotlessly clean (inc bathroom) and well furnished. Nice flat screen TV and, as ever with BW, free high speed internet - wifi in this case.

This hotel has one of the best gyms i've seen at a hotel and is, of course, free to use for guests along with a good size swimming pool, jacuzzi etc etc.

Only downside is the fact that the food is rather pricey for what you get. As I was working I tended to have room service in the evening and to be honest £23.00 for burger and chips and a beer (inc room service charge) is steep by most standards.

Will I return again, definitley! Ring them to get the best deal, dont rely on the website prices all the time, they will generally do a deal if you tell them the first price is over your budget.

Tip - if you do go out for a walk at night to the local pub (see my review on Chilworth Arms) take a torch if its dark as the walk there and back, although not a long one, is as black as a miners lunchbox!

Room Tip: Deluxe doubles are great if you can swing an upgrade!

My wife, two boys and myself stayed at the Chilworth Manor Hotel on the 18th January 2013.
The hotel and the grounds were beautiful, the deluxe double room was amazing and the food in the restaurant was very tasty.
We were on a dinner bed and breakfast rate and everything was just perfect from the setting to the food and from the room to the facilities.
The icing on the cake was the snow. The stunning grounds were covered at least six inches in snow and it really made the stay.
It was my wife's birthday and she really loved it.
We went swimming the following day in the impressive pool and over all had a very pleasant stay.
I would strongly recommend it.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are impressive and they all I believe have a views of some kind over the grounds.

Dear DrGasRotherham,

Thank you for returning to us once again and for taking the time to complete a review on your most recent stay.

I’m delighted that you had an enjoyable stay and found it to be good value for money once again. I hope you enjoyed the upgraded TV’s that I mentioned when you last reviewed the Hotel.

Our Health Club celebrated its 5th birthday in October and it’s great to read you also still feel its in excellent condition.

We hope you will come and stay with us again in another twelve months.

Yours sincerely

Stephen Marriott
