We have visited Aruba twice now and both times have enjoyed going to this bakery for some local treats! Both times we tried some pastries and bought their homemade tuna fish and bread to have on hand for quick meals. As others have mentioned, make sure and take a number first thing when you walk in and wait for your number to be called...while waiting walk around all the display cases and see all the amazing desserts they have to offer :)

Sulienne was wonderful to work with. I sent her a picture of the cake we wanted and it was perfect! I highly recommend Bright Bakery.

When you come in don't forget to take a number! It is a very busy place. On the website it says it opens at 9 a.m. but it appeared to have opened earlier. It is a very modern beautiful place that is air conditioned and has both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a large variety of pastries, cookies and cakes but the locals mainly buy the meat pies for breakfast. We absolutely loved the carne (pork) meat pie. They are fairly small though and next time we would buy more meat pies. We purchased 2 expressos, 3 meat pies and a large slice of something like gingerbread cake and it came to $7 American dollars. In order to use your credit card you must spend at least $10. So we paid cash and we asked for American dollars back which they did but almost everywhere you will get the change in florins. But we found we can use these as well as American change in the parking meters in downtown Orangestad so it worked out fine. Americans tend to think they are being "cheated" with the florins they receive but it's usually because they look so different than the American equivalent so make sure you Google before accusing. We definitely will be going back to this bakery. So far it's one of the best deals on the island. We also liked the inhouse cafe for breakfast at the large modern Super Mart that's near Eagle beach. They have a great omelet there for $7.

My best advice is if you are on vacation, rent a car to make this trip. Their baked goods are delicious. They have a full range of pasty sandwiches as well, as breads, cakes, and almost any other good tasting thing you can imagine. It is a 15 minute drive from Eagle/palm beach to downtown Paradera but it is so worth it. This would be a greta bakery in a big city in the states. We got 2 Pasties and 2 pieces of cake for the huge price of $7 USD. The prices are very reasonable.

I know everyone vacations different but for us we love to explore. We had heard about Bright and decided to try to find it. Its not hidden by any means but it is outside of an area you would normally drive to if you were doing what tourist usually do. I promise its worth the trip. First the bakery is clean and has an incredible selection. Second if you are like us you pay the aruba prices for food at the restaurants but you don't love the aruba prices. Here you can get a great deal on things and balance out the budget.
