The Inn at Spry Point
Certificate of Excellence

The location is very isolated with no amenities nearby (i.e., within 30 minutes drive). Since only breakfast is provided, you will be driving a significant distance for meals etc. Room was not very comfortable (bed was hard, no TV, etc.). Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beach / scenery was fairly nice but not worth the drive.

Booked and stayed at this Inn for our daughters wedding in July. The grounds are beautiful but there was not much else nice I could say about this place. It is very remote, you have to drive 30 miles one way for food because they only serve a continental breakfast. Advertising on their website is false, they DO NOT serve breakfast and lunch. The weekend of the wedding was very hot and the air conditioner did not work in our room. It was like being in a sauna for 2 days. I asked several times for this to be fixed; a man was sent to look at this but he was not able to correct the problem. The reception food was a huge disappointment, menu was not as prepared for the bride and groom by the chef on an earlier visit perhaps because the CHEF was nowhere to be seen on the day of the wedding. AND the water stopped working around 9 p.m. Saturday nite and we had no water until after 9 a.m. on Sunday morning, most guests had to leave without a shower as the water pressure did not return before the guest had to be checkout. We had the whole Inn booked for the wedding party and close family and it was very embarassing to have this happen. These things were all out of our control. We paid a lot of money for this venue and was only offered a small discount for the inconvenience of having no water for 12 hrs. the wedding itself was a beautiful affair but no thanks to the Inn At Spry Point.

What an incredible weekend we had at the inn!! The setting exceeded our expectations and the service was second to none!!! Rooms are beautiful and full of amazing furniture, and the ocean view is worth the upgrade!!! It was stunning! My only regret is that we didn't stay longer!! Thank you to the staff for your attention to detail!! We would recommend this to anyone! A true island experience!! Ps: food was out of this world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed in late August for 3 nights and really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. A great place to get away from the worries of the world. We stayed in a basic room for 2 nights and then transferred to a premium one for 1 night. The basic difference is the enhanced view from a private balcony, bath robes and hot tub. Neither room has TV and it was not missed as we were there to get away from it all. It would be nice to have small fridges in the rooms, but you can use the one in the main floor kitchen.
If you are in to viewing the Stars & Milky Way at night this is a great place to sit back on wooden chairs scattered throughout the property with a glass of wine and tilt your head back. The property has some interesting history to it and is located on its own beach. The ocean is worth a refreshing dip (19C) and then stretch out on the relaxing red sand.
Breakfast was good and healthy (homemade granola & real fruit cocktail). Staff were more than helpful and very friendly. Just go there and you will feel separated from the hectic world. Lots of great places to visit and eat nearby, just ask at the desk.
We will return!

The Inn is not actually in Souris it is in Little Pond a 22 km away from that village. It is also about 10 km away from the Inn at Bay Fortune it's sister property. It is in a beautiful rural agricultural/shore front setting but be prepared to spend a good deal of time driving as there is just not near enough to do on-site to occupy your time on site.

So what did I expect that wasn't there? Walking trails -- they have been lost to erosion. Easy beach access -- it is on property sort of about a 500m walk down the road an through a field. Lunch service-- it has been discontinued. Other guests -- on two out of the four nights (in July) we were the only people on this 15 rm property. A 4 star room -- we chose one of the least expensive rooms ($180 per night) it was small, there was no TV (actually this wasn't a burden but it was a surprise) and no view -- (so OK I cheaped out) -- but the closet was so small we couldn't fit our luggage in it.

On the plus side the staff people at the Inn were extremely nice and helpful.

The Inn Spry Point is not a bad facility. It's website builds an expectation that the property does not meet however.

I really wish I could have been more complimentary.

We had a surprise 80th birthday party for my mother with 15 people in attendance.
My parents had just arrived from Magdelene Islands and stopped at The Inn at Spry Point for lunch.
The party was a total success. The setting was beautiful. The service fantastic (friendly, accommodating, flexible). The food was very good. A beautiful cake was ordered beforehand. It was a work of art.

We went to PEI from Toronto for a wedding. Before we went to the west end of the island we visited the East Shore. The inn is situated on a point of land surrounded on 3 sides by the ocean. The building and the grounds are simply beautiful. Country elegance I would call it. The rooms are very warm and luxurious. Whirlpool tubs, great views, comfy bathrobes . We had one on the second floor with a balcony. We left our patio door open at night to hear the sound of the waves crashing on the cliffs that were about 100 meters away The lunch/breakfast room is bright yellow and just makes you feel happy and I am not a happy guy alot of the time. Lots of good food, yogurt, muffins , crossants, home made jam on the continental breakfast.
We had dinner at the sister Inn at Bay Fortune. It was delicious and equal to any restaurant in Toronto.

There is a great beach and small park about 2 minutes from the front door of the hotel and you can walk for miles.I also need to mention the staff. They seem to all have a mission to make your staff memorable and pleasing. All in all our stay at the Inn was a hightlight of our trip and there's lots to do nearby, fishing villages, a winery and a distillery where they make legal moonshine!!
If you are going to PEI pamper yourself for a couple of days. The Inn may be a little more expensive than other spots but it is well worth it.
