First time i went to see a movie in drive in and I must admit i liked it:) different! You can bring portable bbq and cook while watching movie, like the people next to us. Don't forget insect repellant if you are going, mosquito is a bit of a problem:)

Sitting in your car, seat reclined, under a blanket & stars watching the big screen in summer is what it’s all about. The Greater Union twin Drive-In cinemas at Blacktown are a relic of the city’s history & is one of last remaining in the entire state, true 1960’s culture. Each ticket includes 2 movies yet mofos still try & sneak people in the boot, it’s the oldest trick in the book. If your mistaken for looking too bogan or Leb you may be asked to pop it up for inspection. After the first movie there is a 30 min intermission.

Each parking spot has a pole with a mono-sound speaker. Alternatively the cinema also broadcast the audio via FM channel on your car stereo. The nightly spectacle of muscle cars with monster sound systems needing jump-starts is almost as entertaining as the movies. Cinema reception have portable jump-starters just for the record. The cinema food store also sells hot chips, nuggets & other unhealthy goodies for the family friendly cinema. Located on the other side of Blacktown it’s too far for troublemakers to walk to or groups of hoons to congregate. One of the few downsides is the movie selection which can’t appeal to everyone but Drive-Inns are more about snuggling up together rather than film satisfaction. The best fun is had by kids whose dad’s bring the ute loaded with mattress, pillows & blankets, the smiles on their faces say it all.

Every Sunday morning til noon, the cinema car park is transformed into a flea market full of people trying to sell their garage junk & junk store owners trying to sell their goods. $2.50 entrance fee. Located next to Blacktown’s oldest pub the 1880 est. Cricketers Arms Hotel a popular place, 35 kms from the Sydney CDB next to the M4 motorway & 1 km from the Prospect Reservoir.
