“We loved it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2014

From the moment we stepped on the bus, we were made to feel extremely welcome. Our driver was delightful and was happy to chat with me about the different tribes in North Queensland and their languages. The walking trails were beautifully maintained and catered for all levels of abilities. The grounds around the visitors centre were immaculate, as were the amenities. And our driver back to the centre was as friendly as our first.
I cannot fault this facility and I am more than happy to pay an entry fee to be able to visit this beautiful part of the world.

“Great opportunity to learn about a very beautiful place.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2014 via mobile

Being a couple that enjoys the natural wonders of our world, the Mossman Gorge was always on our itinerary. We weren't disappointed in the slightest, from very beautiful walks through the rainforest, to our guide who showed us different experiences of how the local culture had developed and thrived in this place.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the visitor centre is well laid out and beautiful to see.

While you are told that swimming in the river is not advisable, there is a swimming hole in the national park that you can use, but beware of the strong currents. The water is very refreshing and crystal clear, you can easily see schools of fish swimming around you.

“Fabulous introduction to the rainforest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2014

We went here as we headed north to Cow Bay. It was a great way to begin to appreciate the rainforest. We walked the 2 km to the forest rather than take the shuttle - it's a good walk if you've been in a car for a while! The circular walk was fabulous and a great introduction to what the rainforest is about. We had lunch afterwards - good portions and the best chips we've had for years! It was a great place to visit and we all loved it.

“Do it yourself”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2014

$8.50 seems pricey for a drive of only a few km. You can walk just a couple of km to the gorge for free. It's a beautiful area and well worth walking the 2km circuit loop. I can't comment on the other activities at the centre as we didn't do them, but if you are interested in Aboriginal culture and history they would be an obvious choice. We swam in the gorge although the current was quite strong so you need to be a good swimmer and also quite wary.

“Mossman Gorge”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2014

Very pleasant place to visit north of Port Douglas in Queensland and on the southern edge of the Daintree.
Public vehicular access ceases at a modern well equipped Information Centre. Short bus trip to the Gorge itself. Easy boardwalk along part of the gorge with access to the river and gorge views. Interesting tropical rainforest walk with lots of unusual plants and foliage.
The Gorge itself is pretty but not spectacular.
