Wow! Rain forest walk was well maintained and beautiful. After the steamy trek, we took a dip in the chilly and refreshing stone bottom rain forest river. Park is great. Can take a shuttle from the visitor center to the gorge entry runs every 15 mins.

After our day tour with Tonys Trop Tours we were so taken by the rainforest that we wanted more. We paired up with another couple and as Tony suggested we went two days later on our own to enjoy this park.
What a disappointment. You pay to get in, not that bad except for the snarly lady at the counter.
We took a walk as suggested and had a swim but really felt the place lacked enthusiasm and guidance.
It was great to see so many indeginous people working there, so that's a plus but as a self driver it was a disapointment.

Mossman Gorge was one of my two favourite experiences on our trip to Cairns!

We were a bit confused about how to get to Mossman Gorge because you park in the visitor centre and there isn't any signage explaining your options (which are to walk a few KMs up the road or pay a small fee for the bus). Once we worked out what to do (we really should have justed asked at the counter), we opted for the bus which was a 5 minute trip and much better than walking the whole way!

The gorge is beautiful and serene - be sure to take your bathers because you can swim down the bottom! We only did the short walk because we had a lot to pack into the day but I would definitely love to spend more time there and take a picnic!

Some of it is wheelchair accessible and there is a bus which will take people who are in wheelchairs up.

There are some people who seem to be disappinted that you can no longer drive up yourself but the visitor centre and buses support and are staffed by local Indigenous people who are very knowledgable and friendly. Let's not forget who the traditional owners are!

Having been to Mossman Gorge numerous times before I was shocked to discover what has happened to it! The road once used to access it is now closed with boom gates preventing traffic. There is now a large 'stale' looking building which you are forced to go through. Upon entering we were found that you either have to pay to catch a shuttle bus or walk 3km to the gorge. Not one staff member even acknowledged us at the counter. If one of them had said "welcome" or "can I help you" we might have payed for the bus, as some of my guests had infants & couldn't walk too far. Will not be back & will definitely be letting everyone know about experience.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit to Mossman Gorge, we were disappointed to read that you were shocked by the changes. I assume after being to Mossman Gorge before you would have been aware of the traffic and parking issues previously within the Gorge. The Mossman Gorge Centre has been created with considerable thought into providing a sustainable future for Mossman Gorge and ensuring that it can cope with the extraordinary number of visitors into the National Park.

What concerns us most however is that our staff did not extend a warm Yalanji welcome to you on your arrival at the Mossman Gorge Centre. Certainly on this occasion it appears our staff has not delivered on one of our core values. We are very proud of the 60 Indigenous employees working within the Centre and will use this feedback to continue to groom them into world class tourism professionals. I can however understand your disappointment and can only assure you this is not the values or service standards that Mossman Gorge Centre prides itself on.

We hope that you can return one day and experience the staff and the Centre at their best, providing sustainable future for both the country and its people.

Kind regards

Greg Erwin
General Manager

We visited the centre for lunch and had very poor/ disappointing in fact non really, after we waited some time we eventually we cleared and cleaned our own table so we could eat but on the upside the food was pretty good. Went onto the Gorge, short cheap bus trip had a great walk and look around and enjoyed our afternoon. Certainly worth a look and a swim!
