We spent three nights in this hotel to visit Palenque Ruins and Agua Azul. The Hotel is greatly located at 5 minutes drive to the Pyramids. We found everything very good, the owners are lovely, it is quiet, green and they have two pools, one with a waterslide. Our kids found this better then the ruins. Things I did not like so much was, that the hotel is still being constructed and once in a while there came these smells of paint and glue. This bothered me while I was eating in the restaurant. Also, we found the restaurant a bit expensive.

This is a nice hotel, with spacious air conditioned rooms and two beautiful pools near the town of Palenque. It is located close to the ruins, but still a taxi drive away. In fact, for me the biggest issue with the hotel is that is was a taxi drive away from anything. Being in a jungly area does make it very attractive during the day, but at night there is nothing to do. The restaurant is pretty and served ok food, but after dinner around 9pm the hotel seemed to close down. The bar was shut and families went off to bed. However, the town centre is abuzz with people and shops and bars open till very late. I suppose if you don't mind the 10 minute taxi ride to and from town at night, and enjoy the quiet during the day, or if you want to go to bed early, then this is the hotel for you.
I was disappointed with the service from a couple of the staff. We were given welcome drinks - by accident it turns out - then made to pay for them. We argued for half an hour, but gave up in the end as the hotel was not giving in even though it was their fault.
Overall, an attractive hotel in a quiet location, but a little too remote for me and I was put off by the welcome drink incident.

This hotel was recommended by a local. It's the closest North American-style hotel to the ruins, about 4 miles out of town. The grounds were beautiful; the food in the restaurant was very good; and the two pools with a water slide were in excellent condition. The two rooms we occupied were out of character with the rest of the hotel. They were dirty; there were broken tiles in the bathroom; over-painting on the trim; light fixtures were hanging from their wires; the toilet seat didn't fit the toilet and wouldn't stay up; and there was no TV or extras. The room was air conditioned but permanently set at 65F degrees. We were only comfortable with the window wide open and the air conditioner on.

I'd recommend staying at one of the 4-star hotels in town.

My wife and I stayed in the Villas Kin-Ha at the beginning of October 2007 for two nights and we absolutely recommend it. As Palenque is not a particularly nice town (loud, busy, dirty), we chose that place as it is half-way between Palenque and the ruins. The layout of the hotel is appealing, with cottages grouped around two neat pools. Rooms are typical palapa-roofed bungalows with aircon and fan. They are spacious and very clean with nice bathrooms and strong hot water shower. Breakfast is excellent and we can really recommend the hotel's a la cart restaurant with its selection of Mexican and regional cuisine. Buffet is only for tour groups and we cannot comment on that. In total it's exactly what you expect in that price range - we believe it is excellent value for money.

Good: Location is good, just a short shuttle trip from the ruins. Common areas are also appealing, with a cottage-like layout and pleasant landscaping. Two pools available.

Bad: Rooms are pretty rustic and plumbing is problematic. I had to be evacuated from my room due to sewer problems and fumes. Manager lied and said there were no rooms to move me to until the problem became so bad that their own staff refused to go into the room due to the smell. Then, magically, there was another room available. And yet other rooms for those in adjacent areas who also needed to be evacuated. Why lie? Why not just address the problem and resolve it?

Summary: If you're lucky it might be fine, but any problems that pop up will be a real headache due to poor management style. Would not return. There are other options.

We spent two nights in this really nice hotel.

Rooms are in fact small typical bungalows. They are spacious and very clean.

During the night you can hear insects and animals, it is very fun...

Restaurant is a big typical "Payotte" and food was very good!!!

Conclusion : very nice hotel!!!!!!!!!

Stayed at this hotel in October 2000 before it was renovated. It was warm, friendly and clean. Much quainter and more appealing than the high rise hotels that could have been in any country of the world, this was like being in Mexico!
