The hotel had large rooms, excellent bathrooms and highly effective air conditioning. The pool was small but very refreshing, and the atrium cafe has a resident frog that only comes out at night. Hopefully he steers clear of the pool for his health! The staff were friendly and the laundry service efficient. The cafe had only one vegetarian item which seems common to most Mexican menus. Didn't try breakfast and only stayed 2 nights. Wifi free and strong. Score would be higher but I'm not a great fan of chains!

Dear kittycritter,

Thank you for the opportunity to attend you as our client.
Just let me correct that Hotel Maya Tulipanes does not belong to a chain hotel.
We are only 2 hotels working together as a team: Hotel Chablis and us.
Anyway we appreciate your good comments.
All the best!

Carlos

in the "Canada wood", 15 minutes walking from the palenque town square we stayed there 3 nights. no need to walk to town center every night as there are good (and bad) restaurants and bars in the "canada". Big, clean, no complaints room. Pool area a bit small. One afternoon lots of Mexicans there swimming in full clothing (the mexican style) which I felt was a bit odd.
Seemed better option to us than the hotels on the road to the ruins as they are far away from restos and bars.

The service and quality of the food is excelent, the service and the smiles are all over the place.
It's really close to the arqueological zone taxi need.
There are other options to eat near thos place.

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Palenque. Hotel is very close walk to the bus station. Setting is lovely, a shaded tree-lined street with cafes, restaurants, hotels, in the "little Canada" section, which is much is nich nicer than the sterile and sun-baked "downtown" area of the town of Palenque.

Hotel has a nice outdoor pool surrounded by greenery, which comes in handy after a hot day at the ruins. Pool is adjacent to the shaded outdoor seating for their restaurant, which is where your free breakfast is served (if included in the rate) as well as lunch and dinner. Restaurant is good, and they have good room service also.

Service at front desk as good, and we also went into their little bar for a drink. Room was large and clean and most importantly, GREAT air conditioning. Coffee cafe next door serves great Chiapas coffee drinks. Good restaurants on the street. Also in walking distance to the nice outdoor crafts and clothing market.

We highly recommend this hotel. We originally had reservations at Hotel Chablis (owned by same people) but decided to stay here due to LOTS of construction going on at Chablis. Glad we made the switch. This hotel is very nice; Chablis is more basic and you have to walk down to use the restaurant at this hotel is staying at Chablis. Chablis' pool is also very small in comparison.

Room Tip: We close rm. behind front desk on 1st floor. Very quiet and cool- important features in tihs locati...

Love this lttle hotel. Stayed three separate occasions during long medical mission. Breakfast was delicious and filling. Coffee was so good I drank a lot of it. A local group of farmers provides their coffee and its the best ever (a cafe is a short walk away) I always felt safe in the is lil town, not pretty at all but the surrounding areas are breathtakingly beautiful. Hotel was always clean and cool, staff were always helpful. Pool was clean and refreshing. I woke up to the smell of Fabuloso (a cleaning product) as the hotel staff were washing the walkway.
I am looking to return soon, not for work but for leisure.

Due to the heat, we needed 3 twin beds to sleep comfortably. This hotel had this option. The room its self was average size as was the bathroom but were clean and the beds were comfortable . It also had good air conditioning. We had breakfast, which was included in the room rate, at a nearby restaurant since the hotel's kitchen was being remodeled so we can't comment on their restaurant service. We booked a tour through the hotel but it ended up costing double for that convenience. I would recommend walking into town to book these tours as you will get the same service since they use local tour operators anyway. Overall, this is a nice mexican hotel that is within walking distance to the bus terminal and town center.
